How strong was it? It nearly pushed him to the ground, yet a very weakened Piccolo, already weaker than Freeeza, knocked it away. Seems inconsistent. Was it not that strong and just surprising? |

I can only assume Piccolo used some kind of ki attack to knock it away from Gohan's path. Another theory is that the chi attack was weakened after Freeza "absorbed" and knocked it back. There's a lot of things that could've happened, but either way Piccolo came from an angle so he had a better opportunity to knock it away. |

Yeah, the angle probably had everything to do with it. Just like how it would be easier to knock a speeding football down from the side than head-on. |

Yeah, even fairly big ki attacks are apparently pretty easy to neutralize when you hit them from the side like that, instead of in a direct head-to-head clash. It happened at least two other times that I can remember... when Tenshinhan used the Kikoho to negate Gohan-Boo's little blast at Dende, and when Vegeta intercepted Pure Boo's first attempt to blow up Earth. Ultimately, it depends on the magnitude of blast Buutenks blast was ant-sized to crush Dende. Hence, Tien was able to deflect. Once the freak powers-up a much stronger beam, Tien freaked out. Sayin its beyond him. Likewise, Veggie deflected a relatively puny Kid Boo blast. As he charges a super huge beam & hurls towards Goku & Veggie, they freaked out OT, Piccolo merely deflected a relatively weaker beam. Which Frieza tanked, took some minor brunt of damage & "returned". Basically, a 30-40% weaker attack & Piccolo merely used the angle of deflection to save Gohan |

Magnitude is not always equal to power. |

Wonder why ur making random generalized statement? I mean I'd understand if you disagree with my post on Buu's blasts. But why so random? Not gonna delve deep like using formula of amplitude & magnitude. But frankly, power/strength generated refers to magnitude Take Goku vs Frieza for instance. Their display of monstrous power reflects in Namek's ravaged state. Goku vs Cell however was relatively tame. Goku was tryin his hardest not to jeopardize Earth (flying away frm Cell's KHH, using Instant Kamehameha & unleash it at point blank). Cell himself wasnt using FP & it shows. The magnitude & impact of their brawl shows Goku vs Kid Boo was whole different fight. Their brawl ravaged Kaioshin Realm & Earth sure as hell wouldnt be able to withstand the magnitude of their battle. My 2 cents |

What about Gero's eye blasts that leveled a whole city? Those were paper thin. |

Drawing comparisons. Magnitude does not necesarrily reflect big-ass, amped super-charged chi blasts. My point is magnitude of Frieza, Buutenks & Kid Buu's blasts were enuf to crush Earth, given their size & power contained While Gero's eye-lazer & Nappa's mere finger flick blast packed great magnitude & power despite their significantly small size My 2 cents |

In dbz it doesnt really matter what you can destroy compared to who you can destroy |

But blasts are typically close in power level to the user, no? |
