Would Napoleon listen to my advice?

If I travelled back in time to France in 1799 with certain proof that I was a time traveller, would Napoleon be wise enough to follow my advice? Or would he be too arrogant?

I would advise him to kiss Great Britain's a***. His constant attempts to undermine the British Empire only harmed his own. Instead he should maintain the illusion of friendship purely for trade purposes. They might even be useful allies in future wars. Plus being friends with the most powerful nations encourages other smaller nations to also stay on your side.

Of course I would also advise him that invading Russia was futile. He won all the battles and then found Moscow abandoned as everyone their had fled to Siberia.

That's literally all he needed to do to stay in power. Show Britain some respect (even though they were complete a***** back then) and don't cross Russia's borders.

He's always seemed quite cocky to me, but who knows, maybe the history books lied.
And I doubt he was the kind of guy that listens to other people's opinions or advices.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

He wouldn't since you'd be British.
He would think you're trying to change history in favor of the British.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

Would he know whether Pelador was British if he wasn't told? How different was the English language then to what it is now? If it was different enough that Pelador's accent wasn't a signifier of his nationality, he could just claim to be from a future nation that hasn't been founded yet.

I'm honestly not sure. If Pelador had certifiable proof and proved to be an asset, I don't see why he wouldn't listen. That being said, the moment Pelador advises Napoleon to alter what he did historically, history changes, so Pelador's knowledge could possibly become obsolete. If that happened and he gave advice that proved wrong, I can't imagine Pel's head residing on his shoulders for too long.

"Course. Doing better next time. That's what life is."

That's the first thing I thought, do we even know for sure what the British sounded like back then?
By yeah, I'd imagine this might end up like Guns of the South, especially if Pelador starts giving out secrets to more advanced technology, though I'd imagine if Pelador said that the more the timeline diverges the less accurate hits knowledge can be it'll be fine. Though he may still need to be killed, just as a, precaution in case Pelador gets any ideas about taking over the French Empire.

I would not be giving him technology. He just needs to learn to not be so provocative towards other nations.

Army leader listening to random time traveler? Seems like a fat chance.

There's a quote from him which describes his arrogant personality. When discussing the first steam ships he is quoted as saying.

"You would light a bonfire under the deck of a ship? I have no time for such nonsense."

Now if he really was this kind of ignorant then I agree it might be pretty hard to convince him of pretty much anything.
