Giving this to Muten Roshi right in front of Piccolo. Roshi trained 2 humans to unfathomable strength and was also laid the foundations for Goku to become the strongest of all time. Piccolo trained Gohan to become incredibly strong physically but lacked in giving him mental preparation for the fight for the Saiyans, not all his fault. Karin in third. |

I agree with your first two, I may be in the minority but if he had the patience I think Vegeta would be a very good teacher. He has a fast knowledge like Kakarrot and Roshi, but he's tough like Piccolo/The Namek and knows how to push you to your absolute limit. |

Roshi, Emmeth explained that pretty well. Close second is Popo, he taught Goku how to be a beast in several categories that Roshi failed to teach, but points lost because Goku didn't seem to utilize them all that much as time went on.

Roshi is getting his well-deserved respect as the series' greatest teacher, but I feel like Piccolo deserves some love aswell.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power. | |

Popo taught some of the more advanced things, like suppressing Ki, being silent in your movements, using the subtle movements in the air to know what your opponent is doing, using instinct to make faster movements without wasting time on thought (something Whis also later tries to teach), and just generally teaching skill, since Popo pointed out that Goku had power but sloppy skills. Popo's comments alone tell me that Grampa Gohan, Roshi and Korin weren't all that great. If Goku knew none of this stuff before, and had to be taught it by Popo, then obviously he's a better teacher than the 3 of them. I don't think Piccolo was all that great of a teacher. Talking specifically about he time he trained Gohan anyway, he'd be much better now imo. The first thing he does is throw his pupil at a mountain and just gambles on if he'll live or not. He makes the kid survive in the wild with no help at all, no preparation, no tips or anything (minus that one apple). I dunno how Gohan survived those 6 months, but that was not Piccolo being a good teacher, that was Gohan being an amazing survivalist because nothing he did to survive there was taught by Piccolo. The last 6 months just seemed like pretty generic training to me, and Piccolo fails to train anything but pure strength really. He doesn't train Gohan mentally. He did kind of teach him not to let his guard down, but that's hardly being a good teacher, that's something absolutely anybody would have needed to tell a 4 year old. But yeah I'm gonna have to go with Popo. He's the only one who seemed to teach much else other than pure strength. Whis is a runner up, but he essentially just seems to be teaching the same things that Popo did, with the exception of "not leaking your Ki". |

Popo > Kami, because = ![]() Given the circumstances, wouldn't Popo's teachings be Kami's orders? Yes, Popo taught Goku basic chi control and manipulation, but Kami probably could've done the exact same thing and probably did "off-screen". |

Well I say Popo mostly because Popo was the one who taught Goku. Since Popo was taught by Kami, you could say Kami was clearly the better of the two. |

I'm surprised no one named King Kai. I agree Roshi is the best, followed by Piccolo, but King Kai should be the third best teacher |

Roshi's amazing because he took what was basically your average Shaolin pupil (Krillin) and turned him into a superhuman fighter in 8 months by delivering milk he's the GOAT |

King Kai was hands down the second most entertaining teacher, next to Roshi.

Roshi. For the pure and simple reason that he taught Goku and anyone else that trained under him the most important thing: there's always someone stronger. |
