Will the MCU kill characters? (SPOILERS)

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

So there's a big death that happens in the comics.

A big death that may or may not happen soon.

If you're still reading it's your own fault you're about to get spoiled should you scroll down.

To my knowledge, Steve Rogers get's shot and killed.

Do you think Disney will have the balls to actually kill him or just retire the character in some way? I really hope they don't go for some lame copout like instead of dying Cap just leaves America never to be seen again.
His death would be so hard hitting.

But this is Disney, it needs to add in that magical and fun element so can they really kill such an important non villain character?

The main thing is that Evan's still has another movie in his contract so...he's not done yet. It could just be that he appears in a flashback in a later movie though.

Honestly, I can see him being "killed" but then it turns out he and Fury had a plan and the bullet was just laced with that drug that lowers your heart rate then Cap is seen on an island somewhere chilling out in the end credits.
That'd suck so bad.

It's probably not gonna be Cap, unfortunately, or Tony, also unfortunately.
Besides, Red Skull is gone for good in the MCU, his henchmen won't shoot Cap if he ain't there to command them.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

in the movie. Since I don't think Captain America won't be in Avengers 3, Steve might be killed off. It's civil war, they have to death mean something, then if not then what was the point of having two sides fight that uses to be cool without each other. Clint and Natasha has to have difference of opinion so strong, it can't be weak.

There are plenty people who don't read or know about the comics though, I didn't really want to know about who might die but I found out anyway.

Now if they do die it won't be surprising...

But the question is whether or not they'll even die at all, death hasn't really mattered much in the MCU so far. It's pretty much just Coulson(who came back for the TV series anyway) and Quicksilver who was in one movie.

I just hope there's no lame cop out.

You are calm and reposed, let your beauty unfold

The problem with the MCU is they've so far loved having their cake and eating it too. Everyone from Loki, to Coulson, to Fury has appeared to die to give the films some emotional pay off and tension, and then that's reversed just as quick as they possibly can. I don't think it's impossible they'll kill off a main character. I'm just not holding my breath on it.

With the exception of Thor's mom, death means absolutely nothing in this Universe, and I'm still waiting for her to show back up with some excuse as to why she's alive.

Heck, even Thor "died" in his own movie, only for his hammer to bring him back, because he was a mortal and that blast would kill any mortal.

I'm not saying Marvel needs to go on a rampage killing off main characters, but death needs to mean something.

As long as modern Disney is Marvel's boss, I don't see death happening anytime soon. Maybe, just MAYBE with Thanos. I want him to kill someone, at least. Someone relevant, that is.

If Disney had bought Marvel back in the 80s or 90s, then I could see a lot of main character deaths happening. Disney had balls back then.

I think they still do, they killed off Han Solo in their biggest franchise.

They have balls, but it's selective when they have them.

They still don't have enough balls to do what they did with Mufasa, aka, have a brutal death of a very relevant and important main character and after a horrible scene of him getting dropped off a cliff by his own brother into a freaking STAMPEDE, they show us the corpse's body, and we even see Mufasa's disturbed son trying to understand the situation, but to no avail, the only thing he can do at the moment is stay with his dead father and suffer.

Han Solo dying is child's play compared to what Disney could do back in the day.
Don't you remember the shoe's death scene in "Who framed Roger Rabbit?"

I think that's damn shame because out of all the movie villains he was my favorite. Perhaps because of Hugo Weaving, but I think it'd be cool of them to bring him back.

Hugo has a bad habit of making bad characters seem so enjoyable. Not that Red Skull was ever a bad character, but I hate nazi villains.

Apparently he didn't want to reprise the role as Red Skull in future movies.

Doubtful.
I don't see why it would change.
