Leve Feyenoord 1!

I don't really feel loke this is actually happening.

We all know the stereotypes of people getting offended by anything, but have you actually met any of them? I haven't. I only get to know the extremely politically correct through people like you complaining about it.

It's the same ting with that Starbucks "controversy"
So a few extremely hardcore Christians said It's offensive that Starbucks didn't have a Christian Christmas cup. So what?
America has crazy religious people, aa does any other country. They all massively oppose gay marriage, which is just as idiotic. A very slight amount of people complains and the media blows it up and calls it a "controversy" even though 99,9% of the people agree It's just a f***ing cup.
People are not becoming more sensitive, we're just complaining about it more.

@Boss: Lol, go away troll, spam section is further below.

Wait how are we defining superfluous and fanciful? I'm pretty sure the idea of religious tolerance must gave seemed fanciful, as well as the acceptance of racial diversity.
I'm not saying the use of gender-neutral pronouns in-and-of itself is superfluous or fanciful, only that 'they' shouldn't be used in favour of something like "ze", and whatever else people choose to be referred for preference sake—not for recognition of their position—is.

I feel like this entire post is talking about "xe" and "ze," which I thought I said (I should have clarified better) that I was accepting "they" in place of it.
I recognised that you accepted 'they' was proper, but it seemed you were still making a case that "ze", "xe", and whatever else people prefer (read: want), would still be better, and, of course, preferable.

I do think we should eventually move (preferably slowly for general stability I imagine) towards something where people can simple ask to be referred to whatever pronoun they wish [...]
I was pointing out why, I'm afraid, I disagree.
Fair on all that then I suppose.

I suppose that's also true to an extent. Though I think we agree that using the singular they should generally be more common? Just to be sure where everything is.

I can see where you're coming from. I personally viewed it more similar to a nickname, it's how the person wants to be, addressed. But I can see what you mean and understand your position however. It isn't necessary since we have a perfectly good word already.

Oh look, a worthless "argument"

You're pretty much not contributing to any kind of discussion at this point.

Invoking the Fallacy Fallacy is meaningless "I don't get your point or where you are coming from, so you are wrong"
In my defense, I only invoked a fallacy at the point at which several posters had called you out on using nonsense examples to try to illustrate your points, and had already asked you to provide legitimately useful examples from day to day life, ongoing right now either in your own personal experiences or the legitimately cited experiences of others out in the real world. I understand perfectly where you're coming from. I'm just waiting for you to even attempt to justify it.

Not gonna even get involved in this tangent s***fest but seems like the ones who complain about "PC culture" the most and claim racism (won't bothet addressing any other prejudices) doesn't exist in situations where it blatantly did, are racist f***s, which makes the claiming racism isn't present part so hilariously ironic to me, although it's not as hilarious if you're outnumbered or are just a youngster developing your world view or view of yourself. Dunno if Steve fits that bill, normally wouldn't trust anyone who likes to call his local Black guy who he isn't even friends with "darky" though (lmao) to treat people fairly across ethnic lines. Not to call Steve a closet racist, just a weirdo who might have trouble when he ventures away from the Scottish Highlands.

And idk if people are getting more sensitive, but definitely people are constantly addressing different problems that existed way before anyone complained about them, since the only reason they didn't complain was because there was worse s*** along the same lines to deal with, ehich is now gone or greatly diminished, letting people deal with different problems. Just because things are better now than a few decades ago does not mean things should be left as should be if there are still problems that actually effect people's ability to improve themselves/their lives or promote ignorance that will lead to those problems arising.

Really though the whole idea that anyone should be forced to not put forward their opinion or even better a logical argument is ridiculous and never going to lead to improving the world further. So complaining about people making an argument that racism exists in some place/institution/whatever or that something will promote racism etc instead of actually addressing the arguments is likewise ridiculous and not going to move people as a whole forwards. Insults or complaining about someone starting a debate belong in school playground feuds, not in adult discussions. If you've got a problem argue properly, don't throw a fit about having to have your position scrutinised. Goes for any side of any argument.

Not to say that this only applies to racism or that racism is the only prejudice that matters or even that it matters more than others, just sticking to more familiar stuff.

Well I put my foot in the s***fest, f***.
