Media is responsible for treating and turning this wonderful foe of Captain America, Iron Man and Hulk into nothing but a joke. It all began in the 90s, definetely a very hit-and-miss era for comics, but MODOK's downfall didn't start on a comic, but on a cartoon, the Iron Man cartoon, to be exact. Despite MODOK getting Jim Cummings to voice him with that awesome Negaduck voice that he has, he was still not as threatening nor as dangerous as his original counterpart from the comics, and making him a comedy relief was the worst choice possible.

This is going WAY too far.

In the other cartoons, he's not a whole better. We have that not-bad CGI Iron Man show where he was just straight up not right, in any way. He lacked the menace as the previous animated incarnation but had no charm, even if they tried to make him somewhat threatening by giving him his stupidest design yet.

WTF is that spiny helmet for?

And then we have an even more ridiculous version provided by the half-great Avengers: EMH show. At first he works because of his body and ruthless personality, but once other characters come in, he starts to become a joke, as no one takes him seriously. Oh, and he's also treated like trash despite the fact that he's a very capable fighter in the comics. And this is like the second time writers chicken out by not adding the "killing" part of his name.

And he's been appearing in the latest Marvel shows that are obviously awful so I won't go into them because I don't want to suffer more than what I suffered with the first episodes of Ultimate Spider-Man. The only redeemable thing about him in one of this shows, Avengers Assemble, is that he gets a pretty nice design, very fitting and very serious with an alright voice. But I know for a fact that he's been handled poorly by this show's writers.

Once again they forget that he has a body.

And in the latest comics since the 90s Iron Man cartoon have been doing him no justice at all.

Shame, he was such a great villain.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.
