Why do some people enjoy talking more than others?

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

Like the title says, why do some people talk more than others? Me and my grandad can sit in the front room in comfortable silence, occasionally bringing up a topic of conversation (usually football), but never talking for the sake of talking. My nan, on the other hand, is always talking. She'll even talk about what she's watching on the TV when me and my grandad have headphones in and are clearly not watching.

So yeah, why do people differ that way? And which camp do you fall in?

Some people like to have conversations more than others, simple as that.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

I think some people find comfort in talking to people, where-as others like to keep to themselves which could be due to a lot of reasons. Maybe they just like to have silence and peace for a moment or think about things or life in-general at that moment. The people who talk a lot might feel uncomfortable if they don't talk, like maybe think to themselves "why isn't this person talking to me", or maybe just creepy horror movie vibe where they want to talk so they know they aren't alone.

I don't like talking all the time, and can't stand it when people try getting me to.

What I really can't stand is when people feel the need to explain everything, or broadcast everything they're doing...so freaking annoying.

I talk a lot when I mellow out with people. I'm a huge chatterbox, even if it's just dumbass jokes.

Think I'm the same more or less. Depends on the company.

For OP it has to do with being introverted/extroverted. Introverts find socializing exhausting and (most) extroverts find it relaxing.

Some people aren't fond of silence. It makes them uncomfortable. This is the only reason I've seen as to why people need to talk. Me, I'm fine being in silence.

I like to talk but at the same time I often prefer to not say anything if I don't know the subject matter (people asserting things they aren't all that sure of or shouldn't be sure of irks me) or if I don't want to seem like an egotistical person who values their own opinion so highly to offer it to non-friends.
Anxiety is another thing that makes me quiet, but I would say I'm probably not an introvert (if I have to fit into either the "introvert" or "extrovert" box) since I like good company and don't feel the need to recharge, although I like time to think and do stuff that's better done "alone", such as coming on here, training or researching stuff online.
