What will cause human extinction?

...Steve, evolution doesn't work like that, it's a far more gradual process that takes generations, that's like killing Usain Bolt because he's good at running. Or someone for having a slightly bigger head than most, or someone with an IQ of 115. Or someone who's a really great Guitar player. Put killing someone for having slightly better eyes than most people.
What you're describing is the exact same as the X-men's version of evolution.

More likely it will simply affect our crops. Not a huge deal as we can grow things in laboratories and greenhouses now. We can even produce meat this way. Of course at the moment it's too expensive to be of any use but I'm sure the cost will be reduced as the technology improves.

Of course I agree a lot more needs to be done to prevent this scenario.

Copy's post pretty much echoes most of my thoughts on it.

And idt it's really a case of us being idealistic at all; we acknowledge that humans are capable of doing a lot of bad s***. However, you completely ignore that humans are also capable of doing good.

Tl;dr you're pessimistic, pointer.

If it got to the point where there were outright superior humans though people wouldn't be in favour of being left behind, we'd categorize the people who are more evolved in whatever way as not everyone would be.

Climate change is a huge issue to our way of life as we know it but I don't think it will kill us, it will ruin a lot of our creature comforts but that's it.
Climate change has always happened and life has always continued, the Earth isn't just going to dry up and die suddenly stuff is just shifting about.

Steve, evolution doesn't work that way. We would never be in a situation where some people were noticeably evolved. It happens far too slowly. Some people might have slightly less body hair or be less prone to back problems. That's as obvious as it gets.

Except we wouldn't. If you got a guy from right here and brought them 1000 years into the future (likely farther) then they'd notice a real difference.
It's never Gonna get so obvious that you can categorize people as more evolved or not. Unless you're saying because I have a birthmark on my foot I'm a different order of being from you. Evolution takes far longer than any one person's life.
Evolution is your son having your eyes but your mother's hair. Being a slightly shorter/taller person. You won't notice the difference in one or two or even five generations.

What you're describing is still essentially comic book X-men super powered evolution. Evolution is incredibly subtle, there's a good reason plenty of people don't believe in evolution. It's really slow, gradual, and you'll NEVER experience an example it in one lifetime. Well, maybe, but it's gotta be with something like bacteria.

Couldn't we just go through evolution and despite the way we set up the world, we change out names to sound upgraded? Thus once all the old school downgraded people die out it'll "extinct" the human race. We're gonna die anyways if a big space rock hits Earth(This happen twice or three times already right?)or whenever that Sun blows up.

Thankfully that will never happen since our Sun has no way to explode. It's way too small.

I think a supervolcano would do it easily really, it is far different from a regular one the ash cloud would cover the whole planet and choke almost everyone to death.

Define "supervolcano" cause I think we don't have one of those.

Yellowstone is an underground super volcano. If it erupted then the USA would be f***ed.

I was referring to a massive volcano capable of dooming us all, that's definetely not something we have here.

Nope.
Their evolution is different depending on the size.

I think we'll die from nuclear before mother nature does anything on that large scale. In 2016, NK is testing hydrogen bomb, then soon another country, then another.
