Having seen the movie I have to say it's... Okay. It's not great, it's not bad, it's okay. Some of the dialogue felt Clunky, like Han and Leia talking about their son, some references to the light. Kylo was nice, he wasn't exactly a good sith but he wasn't meant to be that either honestly. I liked Maz, the small alien in charge of the watering hole, wish more of the movie had her. The ending sucked honestly, it's a teaser trailer.
I'm really mixed on this movie honestly. At the end the best thing I'm thinking is that it sets up for better movies.
Also was there any reason for the super death star to be so big or do so much damage? Feels like it was just there yup up the stakes and I'm confused as to how they made it so.

To be honest in the original movies I don't recall that they even bothered explaining how the 2nd Death Star was made. We needed the novelizations to tell us that, and hell, at the time, no one knew that it was the second one, apparently they had built another one a loooong time ago.

I really liked the new Death Star, I loved how they made it even better by not only making it 3x bigger, but also being able to shoot at several planets and it also sucked entire stars. That is BAD-ASS. And thank God there was no hole the X-fighters could get in to blow it up or some shiz(okay there kinda was, but meh).

This movie, now that I start to remember it more and more, isn't as complex as the older ones, but it follows a more 3D structure, and isn't quite as all over the place as the original trilogy. I feel like I followed this one better.

I'm also expecting a Grievous-like villain somewhere, because we always need one. At least I need one. With 4 double-sided lightsabers this time. And I want all of them to be black.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

Well yeah, but it was an Empire across the galaxy, not some piddly remains of the Empire. I mean I guess one could compare Byzantine to Rome but still, it's harder to believe they can just have a solar system destroyer when the Empire had a new superweapon who's entire selling point was destroying planets.

Eh, I feel like it was just a way to up the ante and I don't think it did it well. The only really great thing I feel it did was collapse into a start, which is admittedly pretty cool. It was destructive but it didn't really do admitting that couldn't be fine by firing at the one planet.

Personally I feel like it could have been better as a tv show, like it felt like a season of a tv series adapted into a movie. It does quite well bit things seem to come and go really fast.

Heh, who was the Grevious of the OT?

Captain Phasma should be the new 2nd in command if we're counting Kylo Ren as the 1st. She's been confirmed to be back for the next installment, hopefully with a much bigger and more action-focused part.

Tin Man I'm totally with you on the tv show feel of it. I remember thinking that exact same thing as I was watching it. The reason might have something to do with it not being a stand alone film and instead relying on later films to plug any gaps. Just like a tv series does with its many arcs and character development.

Not that I mind. It's definitely more interesting than The Walking Dead.

Heh, who was the Grevious of the OT?
Darth Vader, of course.

Both lost their wives.
Both lost a big part of their body.
Both turned into cyborgs.
Both lost their sanity.
Both had no other choice but to join the sith.
Both were tricked by their masters(Dooku & Sidious).
Both were beasts with their lightsabers and slaughtered many in the most ruthless ways possible.
Both were the most feared beings of the galaxy during their triumphant eras.

Tbh if she's supposed to be the new Boba Fett, they're not doing it right.

Phasma... I think she should have fight Finn perhaps back at the watering hole and survive, at which point that happens. She kind of seemed generic honestly, armor notwithstanding.

She's not a mercenary, she's a storm-trooper captain.

I see. It's funny, isn't it? Boba Fett never did anything in the OT :p All he did was tell the Empire where Han Solo was and then got killed in the most clumsy way possible. He was even worse than Jango.
