There is no actual sequel to DBZ's story for me. DBO is gone, Gt still has major continuity consistency issues, and DBS...just wow...

Think about it. Has anyone EVER liked him for who his character is?
Yes. He's my favourite character actually. I'll admit, the Cell Games Gohan is my favourite version, but I love all Gohan's from cry baby 4 year old Gohan, to badass SSj2 Gohan, to Great Saiyaman Gohan, to Ultimate Gohan to goofy dad Gohan. I like Gohan's character in Super too, and while I don't necessarily LIKE his treatment, I don't find it particularly horrible. It just...is. The Gohan I like the least is actually Future Gohan, so that should prove that I don't just like Gohan at his most badass.

I think that sums it up, Gohan imo is still really one of if not the best character in DBS, even with being treated like crap, which makes all the more frustrating honestly that they treat him like this instead of just letting him retire to raise Pan. Instead they have to humiliate him first. Because they really want to hammer home that Goku>Gohan or something stupid like that.

Gohan loses power just as fast he earns it apparently. But yo, Super wont end with the tournament. U6 will even be a large a*** arc. or there will be more. i hope..

Gohan will get back in shape. he wont be number 1 again. but he will come back into shape at least.

Buu arc says otherwise, he's never lost power this fast.
With what I've seen of DBS, I'm not even sure I want it to last after the tournament.

They've had him say that twice now. Both times come to nothing.

Where does it say he lost so much power? It's obvious Goku & Vegeta got a major boost, so in my opinion, hogan hasn't trained for 6 months when DBS first starts, that's not a lot of time to lose power when 7 years after defeating cell he only lost a little power

I think Gohan is still strong, Goku & Vegeta just got that much stronger

Why would he perform worse than Piccolo then?

"I am the bone of my sword."

It's literally stated he's gotten weaker. It's gotten to the point where not only can he not attain the power of his Elder Kaioshin unlocking, but even has difficulties utilizing his own Super Saiyan transformation as well. He's neglected his training such as a significant degree that it's had an even more negative effect on him than his lack of training in 7 years during the Boo Arc.

And even worse, despite making note that Gohan believes he should continue training, recent material indicates that he's still not going to do it, turning the character in a pointless joke worse than anything we've seen before, Saiyaman or otherwise.

I don't remember him performing worse than piccolo, when did that happen? He clearly was stronger than tagoma and the other guy....his lack of training is what made him make stupid mistakes (like when tagoma shot threw the other guy that was holding Gohan)

Gohan could've easily beat tagoma as well but Frieza jumped in

Piccolo I don't remember did anything except get his arm ripped off then get beat up then get killed

Well he is considered weaker than Buu considering how worried they were that Buu wasn't there. More over he's barely able to use ssj and nearly killed himself by charging.

But yet Gohan charging up was the only thing Goku could find from beerus planet?

That's like when Goku went ssj3 on earth and Gohan could feel it on the Kai planet

Gohan might've been worried because only Buu comes close to his strength

All that tells us is that SSJ Gohan > SSJ3 Goku (Boo), TaGinyu and Piccolo. The gap between Ultimate Gohan and SSJ3 Goku is ridiculous, so chances are that Gohan lost a massive amount of power.

Gohan getting weaker since the end of cell arc. In Buu arc he got a little fame, but in super he is weaker than good buu that is for sure. He is not even a supporting character now. Even Mutenroshi is better in terms of support.

It's just a silly nerf, can't have Gohan being relevant again.

What if when he died, he lost the boost? And this isn't exactly related, but what if those things combined caused his change in personality?
He certainly didn't lose the boost after he died because Gohan has the defining features of his ultimate state up to the Resurrection F arc. Gohan's slack just finally caught up to him, and now he has to rely on Super Saiyan to get as strong as he once was, or close to it anyway. As far as Gohan's personality goes, it don't really see much of a change. Gohan's character has honestly been fairly consistent.
