地球が!悟飯が!絶体絶命!早く来てくれ孫悟空!!
Chikyū ga! Gohan ga! Zettaizetsumei! Hayaku Kite kure Son Gokū!!
The Earth and Gohan in Dire Peril! Come Quick, Son Goku!!

Summary:

Piccolo is on the ground after getting hit with Freeza’s attack. Bulma wonders what he’s doing and shouts for him to get up, but Trunks says that he can no longer feel Piccolo's ki. Freeza is thoroughly enjoying listening to Gohan’s sounds of lamentation, saying that this is exactly what he was after. Jaco says that this is precisely why he considers Earth too dangerous and will have it removed from his jurisdiction once he gets back, while Bulma angrily asks where Goku and Vegeta are at a crucial time like this. Over on Beerus’ planet, Goku and Vegeta are in fact still sparring together inside Whis’ staff, while Beerus heartily eats pizza outside. He runs out of pizza and demands more, but Whis explains that the rest is all inside his staff (he figured that Beerus would like pizza, and so had Bulma prepare a large amount of it for him). He can’t take the pizza out with Goku and Vegeta training inside, and it was Beerus’ idea to put them in there in the first place. But Beerus insists, so Whis extracts Goku and Vegeta from his staff. Goku complains, saying that they were at a good part just then; even Beerus says that they seem to have done substantial training (Whis quickly heals the two). The pizza boxes pop out as well, but they all turn out to be empty. Goku and Vegeta ate all the pizza when they were inside the staff; otherwise they would have starved to death.

While Beerus angrily chases Goku and Vegeta around, Whis starts to use his staff to contact Bulma and order more pizza, but he notices there’s already a message from her. Whis and Beerus are both entranced by the strawberry sundae Bulma is offering, and Whis quickly contacts her. She’s mad at Whis for being so late to respond, and tells him to notify Goku and Vegeta that Freeza has come back to life and Earth is in big trouble. Freeza’s grown far stronger than before, and even Piccolo died protecting Gohan! Meanwhile, Freeza and Sorbet notice Bulma is talking with someone. Sorbet asks if they should kill her, but Freeza realizes that she’s probably contacting Goku. Unfortunately, Whis says that it will take him 35 minutes to bring Goku and Vegeta back to Earth…but Beerus points out that Goku has his teleportation technique. However, Earth is too far away from Beerus’ planet, and so Goku can’t lock on to anybody’s ki.

Overhearing the conversation, Freeza realizes Goku won’t be arriving for a little while, so Ginyu offers to finish off the remaining Earth warriors. Jaco declares that he has urgent business and tries to leave, but Bulma restrains him. Still beaten to a pulp and emotionally devastated, Gohan reflects on how now that he’s gone so long without fighting, he no longer has the power to protect everyone. If only he had continued his training like Goku and the others, then Piccolo wouldn’t have died. Kuririn responds that there’s nothing wrong with that; it’s only natural to prioritize family over fighting. Hearing that Gohan is a family man, Freeza promises to wipe out his family in the blink of an eye. Gohan says he must stop Freeza in order to protect his family, and begins powering up. While he briefly becomes a Super Saiyan once again, ultimately Gohan’s body is too worn out to handle the power; he reverts back to his normal form and seems to lose consciousness. Fortunately though, Goku is able to sense his heightened power, and teleports himself and Vegeta to Earth just in time to save Gohan from one of Freeza’s attacks.

In fact, it turns out that raising his ki high enough to summon Goku had been Gohan’s goal all along. Goku compliments Gohan for working so hard to make sure he could sense his ki. Sorbet wonders if this is really the Saiyan who defeated Freeza, and Freeza confirms that he could never forget Goku’s face. Bulma asks Vegeta how long he was going to leave his beautiful wife alone. Goku reassures Gohan that they can use the Namekian dragon balls to revive Piccolo. He teleports away with Piccolo’s body, and Freeza recognizes the technique as belonging to the people of Planet Yardrat. Goku quickly returns, and explains that he took Piccolo’s body over to Dende’s. He asks Goten and Trunks to go over there and explain the situation to Dende. The two of them instead want to stay and watch Goku defeat Freeza, but he insists, saying that this is no place for children. Vegeta likewise tells them to do as Goku says. Jaco asks them to take him somewhere safe too, but Bulma again grabs him and forces him to stay there (Jaco thinks to himself that Bulma is scarier than Freeza). Kuririn gives Gohan a senzu, and Gohan wonders about everyone else’s portions. However, Kuririn says they don’t need them: after all, even back at full health they wouldn’t be of much help.

Freeza is thrilled that the time has finally come for him to get revenge on Goku…though he’s a bit surprised to see that Vegeta is with him as well. Goku wonders how Freeza returned to life, but Vegeta guesses it was probably with the dragon balls. Freeza confirms this, and explains about the torments he suffered in Hell (being wrapped up in a cocoon, having to watch endless dances and parades, etc). Goku is unsympathetic, since it was Freeza’s own fault that he came to Earth and got killed by Trunks. Freeza blames Goku as the start of all his misfortune, and cannot rest easy so long as Goku remains alive. Ginyu butts into the conversation, saying that he feels the same way, so much so that it hurts. Goku vaguely remembers Ginyu as the one who stole his body on Namek, and Vegeta recalls how Ginyu ended up turned into a frog. Ginyu says the two of them don’t understand how hard it was for him being a frog, but Vegeta is unsympathetic. After all, if Ginyu had remained a frog, he probably wouldn’t have died…And with that, Vegeta very quickly blows Ginyu to pieces.

Goku is angry at Vegeta; there was no reason to kill Ginyu! But Vegeta says he just would have gotten in the way during the fight. Freeza is impressed with how much stronger Vegeta has grown, saying that he’ll be sure to kill him once he’s done with Goku (Vegeta threatens to kill Freeza first). Freeza explains that after his resurrection, he trained in order to battle Goku once more, which was the most effort he’d ever put into anything in his life. As a result, he acquired power far surpassing anything he’d imagined. Goku isn’t too impressed though; Freeza may have gotten stronger, but he’s grown much stronger as well. Freeza says that last time he was caught off guard, so this time he’ll go straight to his final form. The massive surge of power from Freeza’s transformation wipes out all of his remaining soldiers apart from Sorbet, leaving a massive crater in the ground that goes straight down to the sea. As Freeza finally emerges in his final form, Goku wonders what kind of training he underwent. He calls dibs on fighting Freeza first, since Vegeta already fought with Ginyu. Goku tells Freeza that if he weren’t so evil, he might have made a good rival, and Freeza notes that Goku hasn’t lost his knack for saying things that annoy him. Freeza wonders why Goku isn’t becoming a Super Saiyan, but Goku is sure there’s no need for him to go that far anymore. Impressed with Goku’s confidence, Freeza is ready for his revenge to begin.

An alright episode. Not going anywhere with Gohan's power up sorta pissed me off, but there were a number of things I enjoyed about this episode
-Vegeta and Goku being chased by Beerus after it's revealed that Vegeta and Goku ate all the Pizza in that mysterious dimension.
-Vegeta quickly killing Tagoma-Ginyu effortlessly.
-Freeza killing all of his men, except Sorbet, by simply powering up.

After Goku shows up, Gohan laments that he could have saved Piccolo had he trained. Hopefully that'll go somewhere. Probably not because, you know, Toei.

I hope to Kami this was done in a "Oh no! Come on Piccolo you can't die like this get up! Get up man, you're stronger than this" kind of way and not a "Douche nugget! What are you doing Piccolo, get up!"

The fact that they went nowhere with Gohan's anger or Piccolo's death is so disappointing but unremarkable not surprising. What is infuriating is this whole idea that Gohan doesn't train, or hell, just keeps himself in shape or something. Gohan is lamenting over the fact that he's gotten so weak that he can't protect anyone. This is something you should've realized during the Boo Arc where you got so weak you could barely handle the threats thrown at you. You saw Piccolo and Krillin turned to stone, Kibito slaughtered, your girlfriend beaten to a near inch of her life, were nearly killed by Fat Boo and were indirectly responsible for making Vegeta trade his soul and fight Goku which lead to the whole Boo business because you were so weak.

And hell, we just went through the whole Beerus business not that long before, where you got the s*** beat out of you. You didn't once think of maybe continuing your training...or doing a f***ing jog for 30 minutes a day? And you know its going to be even worse if Gohan doesn't learn and continues to be a lazy butthole.

Also...Ginyu was clearly instrumental to this series. Dragon Ball Super would be nothing without the illustrious Frog Ginyu and switching with Tagoma.

Shut the f*** up Goku. Whether or not Vegeta was in the right, I don't want hear nothing from the guy who murdered trillions across the universe because you wanted a dick measuring contest with Beerus you hypocrite. I am all up for Freeza puncturing a hole in you multiple times.

One could take his sudden interest in preserving life as a retcon of the BoG arc. Long shot but it's not the first time they replaced earlier parts with the movie. :p

Planets were destroyed from their shockwaves that nearly destroyed the universe. So is very likely they killed a good portion of the universe with their contest, likely at least trillions.

I thought i remember seeing only planets being destroyed. There's like what 8 planets in our solar system, 200 billion stars in our milky way, trillions is a huge number.

Funny how goku had no problem with vegeta killing pui pui or him himself killing yokan...

Its just Toei as usual just dont care about consistency....''its just a children cartoon who gives a..''

This whole show is garbage...really...its clear as day they arent trying to actually ''improve'' on the series or even put much effort in making it look good anymore..just look at the awful animation. its disgusting, that and the obvious inconsistency.

Things are suppose to improve in the future not regress....i was actually one of them fans hoping they'd make new episodes, now im just hoping they'll stop now

Theyre just trying to make quick money, though, thats all it is, really...

I don't think any stars were shown being destroyed. Just a planet. And Goku was trying to stop the shock waves from happening, not purposely create them.

Gonna sort this into "the good" and "the bad" because it's much easier to do it like that.

The good:
+The idea of Goku teleporting to Dende's place with a dead Piccolo and then immediately teleporting away is hilarious. I can only imagine the state of confusion Dende must be in right now.
+Goku actually telling Goten and Trunks to leave. He's actually a somewhat responsible father now!
+Beerus getting mad at Goku and Vegeta was kinda funny.
+The episode isn't out with subs yet, but based on the summary Vegeta gets a pretty cool line before killing Ginyu

The bad:
-Gohan's rage boosts have been reduced to him being nothing more than a Ki to sense for Goku to use his teleportation move. Since when did Gohan's rage boosts cause him to nearly pass out straight after he was done powering up?
-Why does Goku have a moral objection to Vegeta killing now? He hasn't had that since the Freeza saga. I guess it was just a call back for the fans to when he originally stopped Vegeta from killing Ginyu.
-Freeza kills most of his army by just powering up. Is that even possible?
-Unless Goku and Vegeta train in Whis' staff again, that whole part was pointless. I know they're going to explain that they got SSjGBlue in there, but they could have easily made Goku and Vegeta achieve it on Whis' planet. I don't see why we needed to send them to an alternate dimension for one episode when they hadn't even fully shown off the power they already had.
-Ginyu was just underutilised in general. I have no problem with Vegeta killing him so fast, but I do have a problem with the fact he did basically nothing in the first place. Along with Tagoma. There was so much build up, and then...nothing.

Pretty much everything from the characters arrival to the battlefield has just been way too underwhelming and rushed. They somehow managed to underutilise EVERY character there, including both the heroes and the villains. They completely destroyed Krillin's character. Piccolo's sacrifice is probably the best moment that came out of it, but even that was done so lamely compared to the Saiyan saga, which is easily comparable since it's basically the same death.

When Elder Kaioshin first starts talking about how the universe is starting to break up against Goku and Beerus' punch, we're shown a still image of a sun just kind of exploding, or at least the very real implication that the shock wave is going to destroy it. Though it seems I was off on the stars being shown being atomized.

Unless we're supposed to say that's a planet. Which is strange because everything else was basically atomized when the shock wave hit.

Even still though, the implication is still there, the shock wave was running through the universe and after a few more hits, it would've left the universe void. No matter how you put that down, that's a whole lot of lives lost right there.

The clip doesn't actually show anything happening to the star though. The shockwaves pass it and it's just unaffected. That said, this is just a demonstration of what would happen if Goku and Beerus kept it up, I think. The punch shown Elder Kaioshin says all this stuff wasn't counted as one of the three punches later, so I'm pretty sure it's just some visuals to go along with his story.

Destroying the universe, and thus all the stars, was the very thing Goku was attempting to stop. The first time he didn't know the shockwaves would happen, the second time he thought he could stop it, and the third time he did stop it. There was never a time when Goku knew that went in with the intention of causing damage.

Well Goku still did a horrible job at that. As people have noted before, there were several ways Goku could've counteredd against Beerus that didn't revolve around trying to punch him as hard as he could and even still, Goku never reacts in a way that shows he's fearful of the universe's destruction. He's obviously having more fun just fighting Beerus and testing out his power than actually showing any real concern for the destruction of the universe.

Had Goku shown any real concern, he'd have tried to stop the fight right there, telling Beerus that too many innocent lives were being killed due to their fight. If Beerus decides that doesn't matter and continues to attack and Goku is forced into a situation where he has to fight, that would be one thing. Unfortunately it is very clear how little thought was put into this whole thing and it just makes Goku look both incompetent and quite morally questionable in his actions.

I think Goku's just extremely cocky tbh. It didn't occur to him that he'd fail on the 2nd punch. Goku's cockiness getting the better of him showed up in the Boo saga, and it's pretty much been his major character flaw in the new material.

Of course they could have shown him having some kind of reaction to the fact he failed to stop it. Then again, we see a few asteroids been destroyed but that's about it. I don't think any planets were shown being destroyed in the first punch either, so it might just be the case that entire planets won't be damaged until the third punch. Of course, Goku knowing that the second, or even first, punch didn't destroy anything is a problem all on it's own.

It sure doesn't look like it in motion. But that's likely just to save animation costs/time.

It wasn't what happened anyway. This was Elder Kaioshin saying what WOULD happen if they kept it up. The punch being shown here is the one that is supposed to destroy the universe.
