I just love how this series throws all the tropes out there and then steps on them, like that one dude Saitama killed. In most series he'd have taken up a few minutes of time despite being weak as s***.
Then there's the House of Evolution, in every other series they'd have had to go through all those floors of traps but nope Genos wrecks that place

Great how it parodies all that kind of stuff but is still it's own series.
You sure that hasn't been done before?
Because I'm pretty sure that's something easy to make fun of.

Especially for a Japan, making fun of tropes is actually pretty usual.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

We got a new feat today. Saitama can take the gravitational force of a blackhole like it's nothing. Now the largest known blackhole Holmberg 15A at 170 billion solar masses only has a pull of about 9G at its event horizon since the gravity gets weaker as the things increase in size. However for a 1 solar mass, non spinning blackhole you can get around 153 trillion G. Now since the tentacle alien wanted Saitama to be very dead, I think we should assume he was emulating the relative force of the latter. Quite amazing.

Anyway I really enjoyed this episode. Boros seems like a real bad a***. The pacing is certainly a lot better than Dragonball Super. :p

Obvious hyperbole is obvious

If it was gravity of a black hole the entire ship would've collapsed yet tge floor beneath him holds up lol

Besides its a filler scene

The fun part about him is mostly provided by his voice actor, I believe. He's really into the role.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Yeah the dude seemed to be mentioning more how powerful gravity is in general.

I don't see Saitama as that boring, I mean he is supposed to be boring he's not meant to go on big spiels about protecting everyone or throw out awesome one liners, he's a dork that's the point.

Loved how he gave no f***s about Boros' power.

I was expecting to see Genos come destroy that regenerating thing after all the S Class heroes get wrecked, good to see they figured out how to on their own.
Guess he still might finish it off but they're not helpless without his obviously advantageous type of power.

Also I've been picturing Boros as yellow/golden not sure why, the hair maybe. Weird seeing him be blue.

Also what's this about a strong warrior 20 years ago? Surely couldn't have been Saitama then? He was born before that presumably and was seemingly quite regular until he started training.
Wondering if there's just another beastly dude on Earth that just sits about doing nothing.

Hopefully they're not brothers or father and son, that'd be kinda typical.

Well, the strongest S-Class hero, Blast, was missing, I'm assuming he must be super powerful.

Also about Saitama being boring: He's emotionless and doesn't really have any unique traits. The "I don't give a f*** persona" is not that rare among fictional characters.

I don't think he's boring. That face he pulled when he went left instead of right showed some personality. And I don't think him effortlessly wrecking everyone put in front of him ever gets old either. If anything it just gets funnier.

That troll moment came out of NOWHERE. He has never displayed that kind of jokester-ish personality, it was a random humorous moment that really didn't match the scene or the character.

What about when he slapped that mosquito woman to death just to make a crappy pun?

He was excited to check out the big boss man and it was obvious the dude was leading him the wrong way, who wouldn't troll?

I don't see how he has no personality, when he lets everyone believe that he cheated his win against the Sea King...that's personality. He doesn't seek recognition or fame he's just an immensely powerful but lost dude that doesn't know what to do with himself.

I don't see how he's any less interesting a character than other protagonists, especially when it comes to shounen. He's not a Mary Sue while he's powerful he's also pretty dumb and inexperienced.
Nor is he some angsty teen borehead like Ichigo.
And especially good he's not your typical "save everyone" protagonist, while Mumen Rider is beast, a main character with his personality is dull as s***.

Anyway as for the episode...not sure why people hype Boros up saying he survived a punch...
That wasn't a punch, Saitama was playing around wanting Boros to get serious.

If that counts then Hammerhead must be strong as f*** right? He is the original survivor, clearly destined to be One Headbutt Man.

Saitama is intentionally bland because he's literally at a dead end; there's nothing he cares about, there's nothing that can possibly challenge him, and he achieved his lifelong goal seemingly effortlessly. His blandness is where the humor comes from. He's living in an incredible shonen world full of heroes and villains and world-threatening enemies, but to him it's all a joke. Why wouldn't he be anything but bland?

He wasn't bland back when he was trying to get a white collar job and suddenly decided to start fighting monsters was he? He was hoping that he would stay that way forever, but now he has no real hopes.

Fair enough.

He's still a pretty boring PIS character.

What do you mean PIS? Him being invincible was a given from the start. This isn't a fighting series, this is a parody of a fighting series. Don't forget that.
