I'm kinda confused how krillin almost peed his pants when he was surrounded by 10 roshi level characters at best, while over the years he has fought frieza, perfect cell, fought stronger soldiers than these on namek and even just last year he fought both super buu and kid buu without being scared. how much can us fans take ?

Toei tried to give a nice moment between Krillin and the gang developing him, personally I don't have a problem with it I thought it was cool (although it doesn't make a lot of sense). Perhaps the fact he hasn't been fighting for so long made him lose confidence in his fighting senses? Best in universe explanation I can come up with.

I'm more confused by everyone's reactions to be honest. Like, Kuririn suffering from PTSD and not being able to focus, thus not paying attention to everyone else and lacking the ability to sense Ki makes sense to me. Everyone else's reactions do not. I guess they could have been concerned because that lack of focus could have potentially hindered him, but I don't know.

Maybe the realized that Krillin was afraid and had doubts about himself? Perhaps that's why everyone was worried about him, even though they should know he can handle himself (Roshi did).

yeah krillin had doubts and roshi was arguably the guy who killed most of the soldiers

If Krillin was suffering from PTSD, there's no way he'd get over it as easily as he did. Even then, we see him standing up to Freeza, the one who actually killed him, in Episode 22.

You know, maybe if Krillin had ever shown PTSD, and was focused on Freeza with his mind being warped...sure. Except this has never happened. He's clearly terrified of the men themselves, and needs a literal pep talk from Roshi about something he should already know. He doesn't even need to know it, it should be natural to him and anyone else that the goons aren't anything special.

I mean, Bulma might as well have come in and smacked the crap out of him going "Krillin! Hamburgers have meat in them!" and then have Krillin have some kind of sudden revelation as if this was something completely new to him. I mean Krillin didn't need a pep talk when going out to potentially face Mecha Freeza. He didn't need someone holding his hand when facing off against the countless number of enemies and he was also aware enough of when foes were truly strong. He was the first to realize just how strong Perfect Cell was just by a light kick while everyone else thought Vegeta would still win.

The problem is that, Krillin's so called PTSD here, isn't focused on something that's worth being notable, like Freeza. It's focused on literally the most inconsequential things to him and turning him into just a scared little punk.

The worst part is, I actually like what Toei was trying to do. If it wasn't for the fact Freeza soldiers are basically Raditz level, then it would have been an amazing Krillin character development scene. It would have worked quite well on Namek imo (if Roshi had joined them so he could use the same encouragement). Hell they could have made that Freeza soldier Krillin fought on Namek actually be on Krillin's level, and only have Krillin win with skill, which seemed to be what Super was going for. Roshi's statement that Krillin has seen all these great fighters close up, and that's why he can so easily dodge the soldiers hits was stupid. He could dodge them because he's much faster than them. If he was on their level then it'd make more sense that the only reason he could see them is because they're much sloppier than the great fighters he's seen and fought.

You know what would have been interesting? If one of Freeza's grunts was a shape shifter and mimicked Freeza in order to psyche out Krillin(despite not being that strong). Krillin can get his moment of fear in a far more reasonable fashion then

Guys, I've just worked it out. Krillin has severe brain damage from when Goku punched him. And remember how Krillin had that flashback to when he and Goku trained as kids? That's the last thing he can remember. He still thinks he's as strong as his kid self.
