the last time roshi fought was in dragonball against king piccolo's who's power level is 420 and got eradicated in like 2 minutes. his stated power level in dragonball z is 139, and now he is able to beat several king piccolo tiers at least and even took the same onslaught the likes of gohan and piccolo took from ss 2 tier tagoma with turning into dust. in addition to him fighting fieza's army while yamcha and chaotzu werent allowed and goten and trunks were hiding, are they trying to turn roshi into the next master splinter or something ?

No clue to be honest, power levels are so hard to judge with the new material...

He should at least be quite stronger than 1.000 considering he easily defeated Frieza's goons but you can argue he's much higher since he survived Tagoma's attack like Base Gohan, Piccolo etc.

Uh...how would King Piccolo's power be 420 when Goku at the start of Z is 416?

As for Roshi, I'd guesstimate his PL in Super to be around 2,000-3,000. A power level of 1,500 has proven to be able to stomp a single average Freeza soldier, so assuming they're all around the PL of the two Krillin and Gohan beat, a PL of 2,000-3,000 would allow him to easily take on multiple of them at once.

He might need to be a bit stronger in RoF due to the fact he fought them for a much longer period of time, and unlike in Super, he didn't lose his buff form from the fight.

It's over 9000! Weel, minimum 1500. Which doesn't bother me, he was fighting bio warriors and actually knocked out Dr. Wheelo'a partner in world's strongesr, so I'm OK with that.

I'll put him at average low class saiyan tier.

I have him at 2600, increasing to ~3300-3400 when buffed up.

He can maintain his buff form in combat so its obvious he got way better. I have him above nappa

I would guess that he's probably up there now. Just because they didn't show him training doesn't mean he doesn't train. I mean he created the Kamehameha after all which means he has some power. My guess is he is probably about as strong as Nappa if not Vegeta when they first came to earth.

Roshi actually WAS implied to train in the manga itself. When Trunks arrives and tells everyone about the androids, Krillin turns down Goku's offer to train with him and says he'd rather train at his own pace with Master Roshi.

So its very possible that roshi and krillin aren't too far apart anymore. Yea i think its ok to have Roshi high as nappa or cui. Man i love roshi, he's the middle finger to downplayers( can't even fly or run faster than a cheetah( when introduced) but could catch bullets and fight in miliseconds)plus bust the moon and he shows not to judge based on look or pl

This logic comes from the same source which claims that Roshi was always so powerful. I take everything seen with a grain of salt. So Roshi should only be 139. According to this movie's logic, though, he's powerful enough to fight multiple soldiers from Frieza's army. He's apparently even more reliable to have on a battlefield than Yamcha or Chiaotzu now, which makes absolutely no sense.

So how can he still be 139
Him improving is fact,he never maintained his max form in close quarter combat till now

since the empire is still on its knees barely standing, it is possible they just couldnt get and train stronger soldiers.
im guessing the weakest soldier on namek was actually stronger than the current Frieza's empire soldiers.

remember frieza spent his time in trainingand was non-incumbent so the leadership never changed. if frieza was the active leader for about 18 months, he could have had stronger army to bring to earth. and that is still on the MAYBE. its been over 15 years since the death of the frieza family, its possible all, if not most, planets wanted to be free no matter what and a new empire is just not feasible.
