What is cool?

What is uncool?

I personally prefer the old style animation over this new one. It was an immediate decision when BoG was first released. However, I have no problem with the new style.

I wouldn't say that this is the reason why DBS isn't as cool as the original. There are A LOT more reasons.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

The art-style hasn't been the "cool way" since the Freeza Saga.

The Boo-Saga started this rounded s***.

I'll agree that the art style isn't as good, and this applies to attacks as well.

That being said, unless we're talking the DBZ movies, the animation was pretty bad for the most part in DBZ

I prefer the old way too. I can't stand much of the newer animations in-general, anyways.

Also the old style made Goku look younger, which I also liked.

Ehhh. I don't think the new art style we've been getting nowadays is that big of a deal but the grittiness that the original db and dbz art style has definitely been toned down

Db super isn't as good for a few other reasons not just the art style

I think the newer style makes him look older. Which actually makes perfect sense considering that he is. When we get old, we put on weight and our hair loses volume and gets lighter in colour. That being said, I also prefer the original look. He looks way better when he's a bit skinny.

Saiyans maintain their youth remember. Toriyama said they don't start showing old age until later in life. Seeing as Nappa was 50's or more then.....Goku shouldn't look too much older.

Even though I don't pay attention to the animation unless it's ki

Super is unpopular because it's retreading the same ground that was already covered. Well, that is to say it's rehashing an antiquated formula from two decades ago to compete in a market with drastically different standards compared to the 80s and 90s. This trite uninspired mechanic of keeping any but Goku and Vegeta from even glimpsing narrative relevancy while prescribing your characters, most especially the villains, with the same one-dimensional gags and motives are just two surface level grievances ailing DB. It doesn't help Super's situation that the combat system is perhaps one of the most linear and non-inclusive ideas ever conceptualised. The few characters who try to differentiate from the muscle-head trope like Chiaotzu, Guldo, and Kaioshin are all ostracised as disposable incompetent buffoons. It fosters a culture of repetitiveness where abiding by the same generic combat style is unspoken law because otherwise you're treated like a gimmicky loser who fights underhandedly. And that's not taking into account the oversaturation of Super Saiyan and transformations in general. When that's all you can create to further the storyline and/or the physical progression of the only two important cast members, it starts to grow tiresome.

While the plastic art style is an issue, it's certainly not the only one nor is it the most important which the studio might need to reanalyse.

The Boo-Saga started this rounded s***.
Goku was round at the start of the manga. Toriyama's art just got progressively sharper as time went on.

Kind-of, but the Boo-Saga was a different kind-of round. If you want compare Goten to Goku as a child, and you'll see.

I'm glad the DB series is continuing, but it is getting a bit old that Goku and Vegeta are the only worthy protagonists. They need to have some other protagonists take the throne at least temporarily (like Piccolo did after fusing with Nail and later after fusing with Kami). Majin Buu could do some training and become much stronger perhaps... Also, they could somehow introduce some new characters to fight along side them as well.

Don't get me wrong, I like Goku and Vegeta, but it would be nice for another protagonist to surpass them, again even if it's just temporary.
I'm getting very angry with you, and for me that is a very bad thing, so watch yourself.

The animation could be better DBZ animation even though it was older was great. It was more realistic in a way or more serious where Super is just very cartoony. The new Anime Nerfs and forgets characters vs Frieza. For real Gotenks defused against Frieza. Bulls***.
