Thala na Gethu!

1. DragonBall: DB/Z/GT all included

2. Yu yu Hakusho: a filler-free model anime

3. Inuyasha: an epic & adventurous tale similar to DragonBall. Take a bow Rumiko Takahashi

4. Hunter Hunter 2011: MadHouse's great execution somewhat salvages Yoshishiro's sloppy presentation

5. FMAB 2009: a genuinely good show. Lack of fandom surrounding this franchise (jusr like HXH, Inuyasha & YYH makes me to appreciate it even more

Legend of the Galactic Heroes is always a safe bet if you're looking for a classic. It's agreed marvelously well in my opinion and has surprisingly great action.
Fate Zero is another for similar reasons, themes of honor and chivalry.
Futari Wa Precure is one I dearly love but I don't know your tastes. It is directed by the same person who did dbz and it's movies though if that peaks your interest.
Hajime No Ippo is getting recommended for it's action.
RWBY, isn't actually an anime but it's pretty much made to be a western anime. It's a little hard to get into at first but eventually it's become one of my favorite shows in general and one I'd highly recommend.
