This story really hits and hurts me. My wife is a school teacher in Allen County and we both live here. Something like this can change you, or at least your views on things. I don't even have a child and it's just so awful to think about. Someone lured a 7 year old girl during a football game into some woods behind the field and raped/killed her (article may not say anything about the rape but it was locally confirmed). It's awful to think about or ask but have any of you had anything like this happen in your community to really change you or your views on things?

I see where you're coming from because something like that happening in my community would really hurt me mentally. It doesn't even have to be my community. Things like this happening anywhere in the world is absolutely disgusting. Even more so when it involves a child.

The bigger the community the more often it happens. In most cases that person has a history of doing smaller acts outside of murder. There is always at least 1 sociopath on the loose anywhere near you. That's why they say to always watch where your family and friends are if you are out somewhere. Especially in large crowds. People get complacent if they assume that every eye will be watching out for you and the well being of your family.
