Switching GPUs is trivial, but I would wait until you had the PSU.

Alright, then I shall wait! I just went ahead and purchased the GPU and PSU from EVGA. They didn't charge me tax! $590 spent on the CPU, MB, GPU, and PSU. I still have to order the RAM.

Looking nice! The only bad part is that it doesn't seem to have thermal compound pre-applied to the heatsink.

Is that a big deal? Can't I just buy some from Walmart?

It's not a big deal at all, just something I noticed; usually the OEM heatsinks have it pre-applied.

But yeah, Walmart's a pretty decent bet. I know Best Buy carries it too. Won't cost more than a few bucks. All you have to do is dab a dot of it in the middle of CPU die before putting the cooler on.

FP, I just noticed this deal!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RCGJLIM/ref=br_prlt_slcty_pdt-6?ie=UTF8&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-4&pf_rd_r=0Y6TV9VRKD4KZVV6H1Q4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=39186d6d-2191-4fb7-94f6-eefa0d9b37a7&pf_rd_i=13431004011

Is this a better solution than the ones you linked earlier?! 17 hours remain, so hopefully you can let me know some time today! :p

The link you sent me shows that it costs about twice as much for the same capacity. It might be slightly faster, but I'd stick with the 2400 kit.

FP, the MB has arrived. Please tell me if you see anything out of the ordinary. I've looked over it and it all seems to be intact. No broken parts or anything like that.

Looking fine to me. No bent CPU pins, no burst capacitors, clips look good.

Sweet!

I went to Walmart and they didn't have s***. I'll go to Bestbuy tomorrow. I hope they'll have the paste.

You can always count on BestBuy to rip you off! $11 for some thermal paste. :'(

The remainder of the parts should be arriving within the next couple of hours. One package is through DHL and the other through UPS. I'll take pictures when the remainder of the items arrive and whatnot.

Until then, I'm backing up my SSD now. What else do I need to do to get everything configured? IIRC, BIOS and whatnot gets set up automatically.

I don't think there's anything you need to do right now. I'd just put the new CPU and board in, see what happens. Windows may prompt you to do a repair, you may have to reinstall Windows entirely, if you're really lucky, you might not have to do anything, just make sure your data and product keys are safe as a precaution, as you may have to format the drive you're reinstalling Windows on. It looks like you're already doing that, so that's great.

Alright, so UPS just dropped their package. I have everything but the RAM. I'll just have to install it when it arrives. I'll upload pictures in a little bit. I'm going to start to take the tower apart shortly and dust it out.

So... I think the PSU just took a s***..... It died mid BIOS set up and now I can't get the computer to turn back on...

:'(

-Nevermind. Not sure what happened, but it was a fluke. I'm going to have to wipe the SSD and reinstall windows.

-I can't get the damn thing to boot from the DVD drive. I have all the settings to boot from it, yet it gets overlooked every time. What do I do now? System restore from the BIOS doesn't work as a way to reinstall. How do I get the DVD drive to load up?
