The Lord of the Dark

With all the Hulk material out there, trust me, there's PLENTY to tell.

Thing is they won't bother as seen by how much they've butchered the character.

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

All the Hulk material in the world can't save the character when he's boring.

No such thing as a boring character; just bad writers.

No s***, sherlock! That's why people refer to those characters as boring characters in the first place -__-.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

There's a perfectly good storyline sitting right there in the Gray Hulk story.

That would be perfect, MCU Hulk is a mindless ape but Mark Ruffalo is a great actor so having him as the Gray Hulk would be excellent while we'd still have the smashy mindless Hulk for him to fight against.

That would be an excellent story to do considering how damaged Bruce Banner is, it's just the right time too as it'd resolve stuff with the Black Widow love story.
Though Hulk f***ing things up again does kinda derail the story a bit potentially after Civil War. If they'd just had some faith in the character it could have worked.

This irks me quite a bit, because I know full well you're basing this off how he's portrayed in the movies (when I'm not even sure you've watched how he's portrayed and written in the cartoons, where he actually is Hulk, not like in the MCU where he's a dumb ape) and not the comics, where he has both multiple personalities, multiple storylines related to these personalities and hundreds upon hundreds of incredible good stories unrelated about the character, where he's just there, still great and enjoyable, and he's even better when the comic does focus on him.

The Hulk is one of the most tragic and interesting characters in all of comics, while MCU Hulk is garbage and cannot be saved from being so, there's still hope for them to use some of the smarter versions of the character, and since there are already rumors about that, they've got several to use.

(just to show off a few)

And of course, arguably the most popular version of Hulk besides good ol' Green/Savage and Steve's favourite: Joe Fixit.

So Valerian flopped...knew it.

Was anyone else just not remotely excited by that film? Everyone on social media seemed to be going nuts about it and watching the trailer I knew it wouldn't be that great, people harped on about how it's based on one of the original sci-fi series or some s*** like that means it will be adapted well.

The hype was that it's the next Avatar essentially and I figured it would be the next Avatar, all spectacle and...nothing else.

When a trailer seeks to make you impressed by the CGI you can pretty much bet there's no substance to the movie.

Yeah seems a bit over dramatic, a multicultural alien paradise!?

Never seen that in a movie...not like...every sci-fi movie with sentient aliens.

I don't get why they take these old series and think that they'll somehow still be groundbreaking many years later.

Ghost in the Shell was a decent movie for instance but it's old as f*** and everything in it has been done before so it just comes off as average, the new one that is.

Oh God, they're going on about making James Bond a woman again.

Can we just not? Kill Bond and replace him, whatever but don't randomly make him a woman that's so stupid.

"James Bond is just a codename though!"

007 is the codename...

Is there a director or movie star you'll go and see their movie no matter what the reviewers say?

Probably Christopher Nolan for me, provided I'm interested in the premise of the movie itself.

Lots of people call him a hack and I find that hilarious, dudes film making techniques are incredible. Way too many people judge movies purely based on the story rather than including the art direction, performances etc etc
I've seen people say the Dark Knight trilogy is s*** just because they don't like Batman and  nonsense.

All his films are put together extremely well, The Prestige is an amazingly under rated gem.

I can't believe that, when rewatching Rise and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, I forgot to click the subtitles for the sign language stuff lol

It made the experience all the more interesting, despite how confused I was, up until I realized they were off. Their society and interactions were all very interesting and I find visual storytelling a lot more admirable, which is what I got, kinda.

Jim Carrey. I grew up with his comedies and I think he's also a very decent drama actor.

Yeah I love Jim Carrey it's a shame he basically disappeared from movies. I used to watch Ace Ventura 2 almost daily as a kid.

And then comes the trauma of understanding all the sexual humour in it years later

Yeah I don't get why those movies get so much hate, they're much better than the one with Mark Wahlberg. Obviously they're not the greatest movies ever but they're pretty interesting I find, they characterize the apes really well, especially Caesar of course.

Ironically the humans are f***ing boring in comparison to the CGI apes, to me that's the biggest flaw in the series.
Like literally the only reason you have to care about the human side of things is that they are human but that's hardly enough when most of them are dicks or have no character.
