I'm gonna keep watching more cartoons.

They liven me up.

Ant-Man and the Wasp was such a "nothing" movie. Took a while but I think I've started suffering from complete MCU fatigue. Ironically, the only thing from that universe that I'm still invested in is the one which most people either dislike or don't care about (Agents of SHIELD, which has been pretty fun for the last three seasons or so).

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Yeah I've been finding them all "Nothing" for a while now, Infinity War was great but probably only because Thanos was a good villain. All the other movies have been pretty boring to watch.

Killmonger in Black Panther was good but beyond that it was still an incredibly predictable and safe movie, there wasn't a single surprising thing about it.

Aside from children I do not get why these movies still wow people so much.
Even Doctor Strange. It was alright but WOAH THE SPECIAL EFFECTS DOOD IT'S SO GOOD
Eh, bunch of stuff warping around...it's not really that unique is it it's slightly more extreme than Inception, hardly mind blowing.

I'm still struggling to see what's special about this movie. Ant-Man barely feels like a character. He's Paul Rudd playing Paul Rudd wearing an Ant-Man costume. Pretty much every decent action beat was in the trailer. Corny humor, uninspired visuals, strictly abides by the Marvel formula...

I mean, it's not terrible. You can still be entertained by it if you haven't reached a point of complete MCU fatigue. Still, I can't imagine this receiving the same sort of praise if it wasn't part of a cinematic universe controlled by Dysney. I feel like the fact that they're part of the MCU brand is the only thing that ensures the absolute success of movies like this one.

Yeah I don't think I've even watched the trailer, at this point I'm invested enough in the universe that I kinda don't see the point when all a trailer does is spoil stuff.

Like I get it, Ant Man and The Wasp are going to do stuff, there's going to be a villain that also does stuff and probably some cool action bits.

Trailers annoy me so much. I might start just reading synopsis' of movies and if that's not enough to interest me not bother watching a movie at all.

Crazy Awesome Legend

The only thing about it that even mattered was the mid credits sequence.

This is off the point of conversation entirely here but holy s***.

You know that s***ty Wolfman movie from 2010 that you probably remember nothing about?
That cost something in the realm of $150 MILLION.

I was talking about how it's stupid that people hate indie games and mindlessly praise AAA games as if being made with more money makes a game better, drawing a comparison between Halloween which is one of the best horror movies ever being made for not far over 300 grand.
So I looked up the most expensive horror movie and that crappy Wolfman movie was high up the list...good lord.

Van Helsing topped the list...

Can such a goofy movie really be considered horror? I know it had some grotesque horror-y elements but was it ever even slightly meant to be scary...?

Movies in general just keep getting more and more expensive.

Funny how Disney stopped doing hand-drawn animation because it took too much time and wasted too much money, even though they've wasted way more since they made the leap to CGI.

I wonder if that could give rise to some more small scale movie producers who put proper effort in to hand drawn animation? People adore the style, infrequent movies like that would be much loved.

Disney used to be great but they're so machine-like these days. Pick a formula do the usual.

Can't wait for another season of Altered Carbon, first sci-fi series I've cared about in ages.
Will be interesting to see how they handle the portrayal of the main character next time. Joel Kinnaman was pretty cool.

That mid-credits sequence was trash, too. It tied into Infinity War to give the portion of the audience that only cares about the MCU's overarching narrative the illusion that this movie is relevant to Avengers 4.

I trust reviews more than people here, I'll tell you that. 7/10 for Ant-Man and the Wasp isn't bad.

I don't see why you should trust the thoughts of others, personal opinion matters most to the individual.

I wasn't trying to sway anyone into disliking the Ant-Man movie, just commenting on how I personally felt about it.
