You should probably use Metacritic tbf, seems to be the most neutral site for reviews in general.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Overall I prefer reviews from the likes of Chris Stuckman and Jeremy Jahns on YouTube among others since there's no chance of them potentially being paid or making a clickbaity review to get money, as most of them get donations via Patreon due to YouTube's less than stable income methods.

Much better to hear it from a real person that's not likely just typing "This movie was very good because I like money"

Metacritic gives Age of Ulton a 66 and Winter Soldier only a 70, these aren't Oscar bait movies for sure but a 4 point difference between the two of those? Wowzers.

...Wait what

I've never trusted Rotten Tomatoes but... really?

Yep.
I'm almost scared to look up other classics.

There's an interesting one though.

Spider-Man 3 gets 63%. Definitely the worst of the trilogy but...really? I'm not sure it's that bad personally, I really can't see how Ghostbusters 2016 is better than it when like it's only real high point is that it's competently made, as in all the effects and such are fine there's nothing bad in the way it's put together.

I can't say I always agree with Jeremy Jahns and his reviews but damn if he's not an entertaining reviewer to watch and listen to.

Yeah he's good for a more casual review, I tend to go with him for a movie I'm not massively invested in but think I'll enjoy whereas Stuckman goes a lot more in depth to how a movie is actually made and what makes it brilliant, or terrible.

Ralphthemoviemaker can also be pretty good, he's mostly funny and cynical about every movie or TV series though but he usually has good points just presented in edgy ways.

And they're not "reviews" exactly but CinemaWins has made me change my mind about so many movies.

CinemaWins does as good of a job at admiring a movie as much as CinemaSins does at crapping all over movies.

I tend to disagree with Chris Stuckman when it comes to horror films. Also I think sometimes he admires the film making elements so much that it sort of blinds him to how entertaining the film actually was. And he can be overly generous with his grading. I tend to enjoy most films less than he did. So if he gives a film a B, for me it would be a C.

Really? I find he's usually good with those, most of them these days just aren't good and not a lot of effort even goes in to the film making even.

And yeah like someone in a comment once compared them said, paraphrased:

"Jereemy Jahns is like a movie fan who happens to be a critic, Stuckman is like a movie critic who happens to be a fan"

That's the way I see both their angles, Jahn's has a more general audience view.
A good example would be Annihilation, Jahn's thought it was boring and failed at what it was trying to do, Stuckman thought it was brilliant.

I concur with Stuckman on that one, that was the creepiest most thought provoking film I've seen in a long time. It was marketed super poorly though the trailer did nothing to explain what kind of movie it was at all. Natalie Portman goes to shoot some aliens or some s***? Okay then.

Do you guys watch reviews to know if a movie's good or to know other people's thoughts? Or a little bit of both?

I watch them to get a general idea of whether it's worth my money to go and see.

Both, sometimes I won't watch if it's something I really want to see for myself, like The Last Jedi. Afterwards I'll watch for the discussion value and views on stuff I might not have noticed or liked.

And other than the guys Steve brought up, what reviewers or websites do you use to entertain yourself/check if a movie's worth your time?

I don't really watch or read reviews myself, I just look at the overall score on IMDB and go from there.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Finally watched Rampage, good movie.

Certainly one of the better video game movies out there, filled with cliché and pretty predictable of course but there was nothing really wrong with it aside from one dodgy CG moment.
Now that the concept is set up hope there's a sequel that expands on the action.

It's not Oscar bait or anything but that was a good, fun movie.

I liked the characterization of George overall, the relationship between him and Davis was great. Can't beat Kong and Anne but a lot less time was dedicated to their bond and it was still strong.
And George was pretty funny.

Wonder what monsters they could put in a sequel, at least with a series so inherently silly it doesn't have to make complete sense. I enjoyed how cartoony the villains were.

Apparently Uwe Boll threatened them with a lawsuit because he has a movie series of the same name.
Never change Boll, never change.

Guess he's gonna ignore the fact that the games the movie's based on came way before his Rampage movies lol

Yeah it's just a dispute over the name really.

I didn't realize it was that Rampage movie, that's like the only decent movie he's ever made so I guess it's understandable he'd be mad  amazed he's still allowed to make movies.

Hoping to watch that Cargo movie at some point, seemed interesting. There hasn't been a great zombie movie for a long time.

I wish the Night of the Living Dead series would stop f***ing around and come out with a proper movie, all these found footage things are absolutely terrible. If it's not that it's trying to be really different and it always sucks.
I guess at this point it would need remade/rebooted.

I'd love to see something explore the concepts of Land of the Dead, was interesting seeing the zombies gain a bit of intelligence.

Instead we're treated to this damn mess 0:28:

In what universe did anyone ask for zombies that comically crawl along the ceiling...
