I remember someone saying just because 'a' and 'b' resulted in the same outcome, it doesn't mean fight 'c' will be the same. My question is, when someone says they have greater power than before, how much is greater? and how much is even?

that's just the thing, we don't know how much. it can be 0.1% greater, or 1000% stronger. but the fight itself should allow us give a decent estimation

Its during times like this when Feat > statements Unless a "what-if" fight unfolds b4 our eyes, the statements will just be an inconclusive plot-device |

Well greater means that something is better by a good amount. Greatly surpasses for example should mean a lot stronger. How much exactly? Ehhh

I've gotten side-eyed in the past for this, but here goes: Piccolo vs Freeza before Freeza powered up: Clearin states that Piccolo is fighting Freeza evenly, and Vegeta notes that Piccolo was actually stronger than Freeza. So, Piccolo was notably stronger but not obviously. Vegeta vs Freeza (Form 1): Vegeta obviously struggles to match Freeza and it shows; however Freeza can't outright overwhelm the former. Vegeta (24000), Vegeta (30000): Clearin acknowledges Vegeta's increase in power as an enormous one; Vegeta s even able to match Zarbon. Those are the three ticks on the ruler for me. 1.25 and greater is a large power difference, IMO. Afterwards, for simplicity, I cube 1.25 to get a number for the small difference in power and then square the result to the second power difference. 1.077 small but notable difference 1.160 effective difference 1.25 large difference |
