A common complaint among reviewers against DBZ games (particularly the fighters) is how characters have an identical feel to them. Can you name all the characters throughout the DBZ fighters released over the years that play exactly the same as another or identical? Budokai: Hercule (Tien-clone), Recoome (Nappa-clone), Zarbon (#16-clone), Dodoria (#19-clone) #18 also plays extremely similar to #17 but she has different <P chains, PPP>P combo, KKKK combo, and >>K. Kid Gohan, Teen Gohan, and Krillin also play extremely similar to each other but have certain chains that one other doesn't. Budokai 2: Gohan (Goku-clone), Tien (Yamcha-clone), Goten/Trunks (they're clones of each other), Videl (Hercule-clone), Supreme Kai (Frieza-clone), Recoome (Nappa-clone), Dr. Gero (#17-clone), Dabura (Cell-clone), Super Buu (Majin Buu-clone) Damn, Budokai 2 has a lot of clones... Sagas: Everyone Self-explanatory |

in Xenoverse everyone kinda feels the same considering it's just visually slightly different when all you are doing is spamming X/Square and Y/Triangle for combos.. i remember getting 120 hit combo just by spamming X, X, X, X, Y repeat, with every single character.. really the only thing anyone had different was Special attacks and/or ultimates. |

Really..?! I'd figure Dimps would do more to differentiate characers. Hopefully the next game would get it down... |

i find almost all dbz games quite boring except for a few handhelds. Budokai and Tenkaichi are both... lame.. why are they so hyped is beyond me. Xenoverse also, just by looking you can tell that it's like physically impossible to play properly.. i can't explain it.. ugh, these developers should just do something... i want bandai to announce somethin! |

Xenoverse is really basic if you take out the rpg elements, it's still a bit simple if you do. While the combos themselves are different the main differentiation is the stats and special moves given to each character, though I will say the races do play fairly differently in how exactly the combos function, as well as throws being different on different races. In any case the main differentiation is usually special and ultimate moves, along with the stats of a chatter changing how they approach combat. It's more an rpg than a fighting game, which is part of why I'm not sure it applies as heavily to this. |

as an RPG, it sucks. the last 2 LoG games, Attack of Saiyans, Dragon Ball online, Super Saiya Densetsu, those are RPGS. as a fighter. it sucks. Hyper Dragon Ball Z, Super Dragon Ball Z.. other non dbz fighters... take note god damn it. for 3d's they'd have to work it out themselves, for 2D they can take note from so many fighters, then make into a competitive DBZ styled game, with all the fast pace combat, requiring skill.. everything |

What Xenoverse is is basically a Dragon Ball simulator, it has the fighting and does it proficiently, even if the system itself is really simple, but with how Dragon Ball itself is framed, you need it to also be an rpg to showcase training to become so much stronger. It's kind of a unique breed, but if I have to place it anywhere it's on the rpg side. I mean if I had to compare it I'd compare it to the likes of Poke'mon in simplicity, it's simpler sure but it also has fighting system in place. One can argue it does neither right, but I feel it does both well enough that it is a good dbz game. Enough that I want a sequel so they can expand on it and work out the kinks anyway. Also wait isn't DBO basically a regular MMO with a dragon ball skin? ...actually this is all kind of unrelated to clones in dbz games isn't it?

Yep ![]() there are clones every where tho. Shadow Clones, Character Clones, 10 Gohans in a game, 200 Gokus in a game.. Seriously.. Xenoverse "Costumes" were still clones with different specials... ew.. and people want a tenkaichi 3 HD release.. it would be fun, sure.. but it'd still suck considering how easy it, and how i'd probably f*** anyone online with Arale. it's toooooo simmmmpleeee and repetitive! all you need to do is "master" 1 character, and you can then use them all |
