Is EoZ still canon?

I've been seeing around recently that many people discount any events that happen within EoZ. Various reasons for this but often it comes down to EoZ for one reason or another lacking the appropriate grounds to be considered canonical, such as not being written with BoG and FnF in mind.
While canon is generally what you choose... Is the EoZ still generally understood to have happened even with the new material in place? Or has it been disregarded it in regards to Dragon Ball as a whole?

I find it funky that people think that EOZ is non-canon because it wasn't written with BoG and FnF in mind instead of BoG and Fnf not being written with EOZ in mind. Just rubs me the wrong way for some reason.

Thala na Gethu!

If anything, its BOG & Fukatsu no Farce that needs to be questioned instead of EoZ

EoZ was completed during manga's original run. 1995 for God sake!

Say whatever u want, Toriyama sticked to Goku's characterization & gave him an Ppen-Ending which fits Goku's mould: a selfish dude wanting to fight sugoi guys

While it may...may have paved the way for GT, the whole mess known as God & Blueper SSJ is garbage

It'll find no place in EoZ

Exactly, it should be Super/BoG-RoF that should be questioned.
EoZ is more canon than them since Manga Canon is unquestionable.

Who are these dumbasses that think Dragon Ball Z is no longer canon to Dragon Ball Z?

More people than you think, Ace.

I find BoG and FnF to be cool side stories, but it's not manga canon... but that doesn't mean that it can't be enjoyed as much as manga canon.

I consider anything that doesn't contradict the manga to be canon, so Jaco The Galactic Patrolman works in this sense; even though I'll admit that it's strange that Bulma had an older sister all along that was never even mentioned during the serialized run.

Agreed. Though it isn't the weirdest thing in DB I've found. If the President of Earth is a talking cat man, I can let Bulma have a sister she rarely mentions or visits in Deep Space.

Honestly I figure Dragon Ball canon is like Star Wars canpn. Shadows of the Empire was awesome and so was Forces of Corruption, but neither of them make Return of the Jedi non canon.

I always presumed it was a dog. Looking at it now, it sort of is cat-like, but the moustache reminds me of a scruffy dog face. And the deep voice sounds more doggy than cat to me, which I'd presume would be higher-pitched, and use more clever words. But I haven't yet met a real talking dog or cat to confirm these presumptions.

My Dear Melancholy,

Dragonball doesn't have a canon.

Think of it as the narrator telling his kids a folk story or legend about the Z fighters. Everytime he adds something new or change something. Even the Big Green dub can be accurate using this mentality.
