Super Saiyan among Super Saiyans

Shortly before Goku was born, some of Frieza's reconnaissance units transmitted an incomplete message: "... Frieza ... something terrible ... scientist Dr. Gero ... planning to create ... most powerful being in the universe... Saiyan and Namekian DNA ... He's located in the..." When Dr. Gero partially jammed the recon unit's communications, it made Frieza unable to ascertain the origin of the signal. In fact, Frieza's best engineers were fortunate to decipher this much. Nevertheless, he had heard enough. Dr. Gero posed a threat to the Planet Trade Organization. As emperor of the known galaxies, Frieza knew he had to make the tough call. Considering this was a vitally important task, Frieza decided not to tell anyone about this mission. In fact, he executed the engineers who had heard the message. For the good of the galaxies, he said. Not long after decoding the signal, Frieza wiped out Planet Vegeta to prevent Dr. Gero from acquiring Saiyan DNA. At the time, the Namekian planet was uncharted. After two decades of searching, Frieza still could not find it. Fortunately, Frieza found the answer when he overheard Vegeta talk with Piccolo during the battle on Earth. Now, admittedly Frieza did not plan to leave Namek empty-handed. If he is forced to destroy the Namekians anyway, he might as well leave with the Dragon Balls. Not to mention, it made the excursion seem more exciting to his army. Encountering a SSJ for the first time, Frieza was outraged, for he knew such power would render Gero's creation unstoppable if it were not extinguished quickly. Having survived the battle with the SSJ, Frieza was reborn. He would finish what he started by eliminating the last liability. Ironically, if Trunks had not interfered, Frieza's Death Ball would have destroyed Earth and Gero along with it. Thus ends the tale of Frieza, the misunderstood (for admittedly very good reasons) hero |

Of course! After reading this, I now think that Freeza would be a better protagonist than Goku. |

Umm, it'll work for FMAB, not DragonBall Decoding messages, long-term plannings: all these characterise Father & his childrens. Furiza is a spoiled-brat who gets ticked whenever provoked. And blasts da planets outta existence. KABOOM!!! |

You could argue Frieza did not want a more powerful being than him to exist because only he can or should govern the galaxies. |
