How would you change the Buu Arc?

Would you want to change it at all, no? Fair enough.

But what about the people that weren't quite happy with the way things went in that arc and feel that it could have been written better or something could have been slightly different.

What's your take on it?
What would you change personally?

I would say make Gohan the main character after Goku's time is up, but then we wouldn't get the awesomeness that is Vegito.

I wouldn't bring Goku back or make Fusion a thing, for starters. Buu should've been more appealing of a villain as well.

I'd discard Super Saiyan 3 Gotenks, have Gohan lose to Bootenks like usual, have Goku and Vegeta jump in to form Vegetto, and get absorbed by Boo, get everyone out, have Gohan, Goten, Trunks, and Piccolo die like usual. Have Dende summon the dragon to revive the Earth and everyone on it, then bring Gohan to the battlefield and have him kill Boo, because he was too much for Goku and Vegeta. This way Gohan gets to be the badass he was built up to be, and everyone is revived for a happy ending. Gohan is now the strongest warrior, and everyone can live in peace.

That's easy. I'd take Super Saiyan 3 away from Gotenks. He would still do everything he did in the story, but with just Super Saiyan 1, maybe 2, instead. This would do three big and worthwhile things:

1) It would make Fusion seem more effective and special. As the story goes now, despite how awesome Fusion's supposed to be, Gotenks never seems powerful or useful without SS3. This might make Vegetto seem a little LESS special, but the same benefit still applies to him — "wow, he's so much stronger than all these other guys, even with only Super Saiyan (1/2)!"
2) It would likewise keep Super Saiyan 3 more special as something exclusive to Goku, the guy who spent years working for it in the afterlife. It would remain his exclusive and trademark form for the Boo arc and beyond.
3) It would reduce the potential power-bloating that stems mainly from Gotenks, and allow for SS3 Goku remaining the strongest hero (sans Vegetto) to be a realistic possibility.

Otherwise, the rest of the story would progress mostly the same. I actually like how things ended with Pure Boo.

My gripes with that arc stem from a plethora of different issues ranging from the self-deprecating tone of the story to the inconsistencies within key points as well the substandard characterisations of everyone involved. It's like Toriyama wasn't trying at the point. I guess he may have been suffering from writer's fatigue.

Great Saiyaman arc

To begin with, let me just state that I had no issues with the high school segment of the arc. In fact, I appreciate the glimpse into characters' lives during times of peace when there isn't a planetary threat at their doorstep. We're shown that Gohan still wants to do good by participating in crime fighting. However, I take issue in his lack of training over the course of the timeskip. To be more exact, I dislike the fact that there wasn't any reasoning or excuse behind it except that Gohan was lazy. He knew that his father had entrusted him with the duty of protecting Earth.

My first change would have been to try and rationalise this lack of training. To make Gohan's predicament as a teenager in High School with an overbearing mother who wants to see him succeed one of the root causes for his lack of physical improvement. Paint him as a more sympathetic figure who did his best to balance a clandestine training regimen with his academic responsibilities; a challenge which his father never really had personally. The results of the regiment which he did carry out would have lessened the decrease in power to just a moderate amount instead of being a substantial loss.

The second change arrives at Capsule Corp where Vegeta declares that he'll join in order to fight Gohan. Instead of just having that concept discarded the moment Goku butts into the conversation, his interest would be centred on defeating both his old arch rival and usurping Gohan's old authority as the strongest from the Cell Games. This would persist into the world tournament arc where Vegeta eagerly anticipates defeating Goku first before moving on to Gohan in the finals where he can declare himself the strongest. In his mind, the dignity and honour lost over the years will have been reclaimed with the defeat of Kakarot and his son who both saved his life at one point or another.

Another significant deviation from the original timeline that I would prefer is Goten and Trunks not being capable of SSJ transformation right from the get-go. For hybrid Saiyans conceived by powerful fathers with a number of useful tools to quickly strengthen themselves with (sparring with each other, their Saiyan family members who will be in Base form themselves, and having access to the gravity chamber), their Base forms should be sufficient for the time being. Through this more leveled approach, some amount of dignity for the Super Saiyan transformation remains intact. They will achieve the form at a later date when the conditions are appropriate.

World Tournament arc

The next change takes place at the tournament with the Supreme Kai. For the most part, I thought events here were acceptable, except I would make it explicitly clear that Piccolo was addressing Kaioshin's power. However, I think I would like to see a bit of psychological confliction within himself by wrestling with the compulsive deference expressed by Kami against his instinctual yearning to fight as a warrior Namekian before finally relenting.

Events proceed normally up until Spopovich and Yamu. I always disliked how there seemed to be not much consideration or background logic for this ruse of Kaioshin and Kibito's. Instead of just making it come across as half-baked, the Saiyans, Krillin, and Piccolo would have made it a point to demand an explanation for why Gohan's energy needed to be drained and allowed to reach Babidi's hands.

Due to the magical safeguards and defences set in place against intrusion from those seeking to glean information from his subordinates, Babidi has ensured that both his location and the specifics about his forces won't be revealed to potential enemies. Mental penetration is impossible, and if force of hand is applied, Babidi is made aware thanks to the connection he has with the subordinate and will promptly kill them before anything can be divulged. And because they actually to avoid being discovered by the enemy, I'm thinking perhaps it would flow with the internal logic of the story at that point to maybe have Kaioshin and Kibito in some kind of disguise. It could just be a mask covering the entire head with a different set of clothes or something. It's obviously removed once the enemy has left the stadium and their usual getup magically appears like with Gohan on the Kai planet.

Babidi arc

The story progresses the same but with the added detail of Kaioshin advising everyone to remain further behind and suppressed while flying so that Babidi isn't immediately made aware of their presence. Keep in mind that this is the Kaioshin from the tournament and not the panicky little grumplin who gawks at everything. Because of his status and authority as Kaioshin, he wouldn't be so easily moved by fits of emotional outburst or shock. He's more level-headed, but with a streak cautiousness that conflicts with the brazen attitudes of the Saiyans.

By this stage of the operation, Kaioshin's logic in refraining to act once the two human minions arrive at the ship would be that he wishes to have Babidi enter out into the open personally to retrieve the stolen energy before acting. However, with the emergence of Dabura, it compels him to improvise, recognising the danger posed by the Demon King - who, by the way, is definitely made SSJ2 tier in this hypothetical - and the uncertainty of what Babidi's magic could have done to enhance his abilities or afford him some other new tricks. He would quickly inform everyone on the information he does have regarding Dabura's techniques, including the Stone Spit. However, thanks to the enhancements given by Babidi's magic and immediate shock at being discovered, Kibito would have still been killed and the others petrified. Babidi has better reason to kill Spopovich and Yamu now since they unintentionally brought a group of warriors lead by Kaioshin to their hideout.

Rather than hesitate for no apparent reason, while the Saiyans are eager and determined to venture after Dabura, Kaioshin proposes right-then-and-there the possibility of acquiring the Z-Sword to quickly build their strength up before acting, deducing that Gohan's power alone shouldn't be enough to resurrect Buu just yet and that it will be far more difficult and time-consuming for whatever minion Babidi sends out to scavenge energy with the Saiyans absent from the planet. Goku and Gohan counter this suggestion with the fact that it would be directly imperiling innocent people, a tragedy which Kaioshin understands but is willing to make if it ensures the safety of the greater universe (I want this decision of Kaioshin's to be interpreted as an example of his questionable nature and the extremes to which he will go to succeed).

Obviously the Saiyans disagree and continue on anyway, leaving Kaioshin with no other option but to accompany them and provide his own strength to the cause.

My next change involves the competency and logic behind Babidi's actions towards the Saiyans and Kaioshin. We do know that in the manga he was left with the false presumption that Spopovich and Yamu had killed many people to acquire the huge storage of energy and that it wasn't derived from just one being. A special note is made of this ignorance on his part.

Pui Pui is sent out under the pretense of assessing how strong these other beings (Gohan, Vegeta, and Goku) are. Babidi is aware of just how powerful Kaioshin is and so he intentionally has Pui Pui refrain from attacking him. On the other hand, with the magically conveyed threat of retaliation from Dabura personally if Kaioshin intervenes, he's compelled to stay out of the fight. He quickly grasps the reason for Pui Pui's deployment, and is concerned about his group's actual power being exposed, but concludes that fighting him will at least reduce the amount of enemies that stand in their way. This is of course factoring in the idea of Kaioshin being preemptively aware that Pui Pui stands no chance against any of them, even with some assumed amplification perks courtesy of Babidi. He decides to play along for the time being, hoping that Vegeta's arrogance and underestimation doesn't outweigh his competence as a fighter or the awareness that his opponent's techniques aren't really known to them.

Skip the doltish Rock-Paper-Scissors game. Instead, Vegeta is personally selected by Pui Pui to fight him, a request that's happily obliged with the logic being that Goku will go next followed up by Gohan. During this battle, Babidi is using the Kiri measurement device to ascertain how strong Vegeta is. Fortunately, Kaioshin is aware of the Kiri power reading system that his nemesis uses, but assures himself that even if Vegeta's normal power is exposed, the Super Saiyan forms will remain a secret for the time being.

Pui Pui fight occurs normally, except I would reinterpret it in a much more brutal and serious fashion, perhaps similar to the Zarbon fight with Vegeta's opponent continuing to get up so the maximum amount of information can be gleaned, recognising that his own life is being forfeited and is willing to make the sacrifice for his leader. Once killed, there is no shock from anyone. Both parties recognised that Pui Pui's role essentially was to act as a measuring stick for the Kiri device.

Babidi is somewhat unnerved by the strength reading and decides to use Yakon just as normally in the hopes of obtaining some kind of energy now. He doesn't know how powerful Gohan and Goku are, but nonetheless recognises Vegeta's displayed power as a rough benchmark to indicate that no one short of Yakon can make a difference in this battle. Same as before - the threat of retaliation is dangled if Kaioshin intervenes or anyone else intervenes. The Saiyans wouldn't necessarily mind that, but are content to get their respective turns before challenging the Demon King himself. This time, however, when upon seeing Yakon appear, Kaioshin becomes somewhat concerned since he's aware that Yakon's power is abnormally high, enough to possibly warrant the Saiyans transforming to avoid procuring any significant injuries. He won't panic, but he'll advise Goku to fight with all of his strength now.

Goku is still caught by surprise when Yakon uses his claws. Darkness ensues to give a more advantageous position for Yakon. Being that he's a greedy ravenous monster enthralled by the fight, Yakon neglects to consider that his opponent can sense energy. Due to his overconfidence and eagerness to show off, Goku reveals SSJ, a discovery which neither Babidi or Yakon immediately doesn't dismiss and is reading off the charts in terms of Kiri levels. The rest of the fight is the same, except the most in terms of reaction that Goku's burst of SSJ2 will get from Kaioshin is a brief widening of the eyes and maybe a sweat drop. He acknowledges that the power displayed resembled Gohan's from the tournament which he restrained, but doesn't arrive at the conclusion yet that he's been surpassed.

Again, same as the original timeline with Dabura being sent out because there's no one powerful enough to stand against what was just seen. The Demon King's appearance prompts Kaioshin to finally suggest that they work together. However, being the prideful and arrogant species that they are, the Saiyans deny his request, including Gohan who feels that it would be unfair for him to not get a turn after the other two went and that he wants to personally avenge the loss of his mentor, Piccolo, and friend Krillin by going one-on-one with their attacker. Kaioshin will speak up against this decision, but Vegeta threatens him if he dares to interfere. Without the support of the other two Saiyans, Kaioshin reasons that the only hope now is for everyone to start attacking together once it's proven that Dabura is too dangerous for any one of them to go at it alone.

Fight transpires normally, except with Gohan show showing sparks and the distinct hairstyle to conclusively prove that he and Dabura were SSJ2 tier, as does the one back at the tournament with #18. The only difference is that it goes on for a bit longer before #18 deduces somehow that Mighty Mask is in fact Goten and Trunks in disguise. They flee and everything there occurs as is.

I might have Dabura actually land some damage on Gohan just to make him appear more competent, and this is with Gohan having maintained some kind of training to keep his skills at least partially honed. Not through his physical strength, but through his trickery and magic. It still wouldn't be enough to win, and the whole ordeal with Vegeta becoming Majin remains pretty much the same. Perhaps with an added on detail about the Majin charm reawakening those dark inclinations in Vegeta's heart while amplifying his selfish desire to reclaim his honour. Vegeta wishes to fight and "kill" Goku first before setting his sights on Gohan. Kaioshin dares to finally intervene, which prompts Goku to finally transform into SSJ2 (the previous feat of immobilising his son when he was an SSJ2 hasn't been lost on him). This is when Kaioshin finally acknowledges that he's been surpassed, but his reaction is more dignified compared to the manga's in that he solemnly yields to Goku's overpowering show of force instead of gawking with a slack-jaw.

Transported to the desert, he offers to assist Goku in quickly bringing down Vegeta, but it's refused by both parties, understanding that this is a personal vendetta between them. Kaioshin has no choice but to accept just like in the original timeline. The same events happen up until Buu's appearance.

Majin Buu arc

Now I always thought that Buu's character type should have been played as being creepily childlike and sinister with an apparent lack of reasoning or mental comprehension realised by the Z-Warriors. Buu is an erratic, unstable creature who masks his murderous desires behind a personality of seeming innocence. As he's being released, Kaioshin demands that they flee, but Gohan holds his ground to try and stop the resurrection in a desperate effort. Same results as in the manga.

Dabura questions Buu's mental reasoning and willingness to align himself with Babidi, which promptly earns him the same brutal treatment as we saw in the manga, perhaps with a bit more of a torture angle to it, though. Afterwards, things mostly go the same, except I would have Kaioshin raise his arms up to the sides of his head in a gesture of defence when Buu slaps him. Instead of the half-comedic shot we got, his face is significantly damaged with both arms broken, maybe beaten up a little more with Kaioshin fruitlessly trying to hold him off with his psychic powers before colliding with the ground. Same torture (with less gawking and more genuine agony like we saw from Nail when he was being hurt by Frieza), same Gohan almost being killed, same practically everything until Dabura is killed. When he's turned into a cookie, instead of his features and posture being artificially shifted to look neutral, I think a good way to convey the direness of the situation would be for him to have a more horrified and scared posture as a cookie. It's a subtle detail, but one which I would try to include.

I said before that there should be an appropriate time and place for Trunks to go SSJ. Well watching his father get brutally beaten to death by this psychotic childish monster might be a good trigger for that. He transforms for the first time, garnering the shock of those around him before flying off to kick Buu away. Goten has yet to trasnform, but will do so in time.

Same everything with the Fusion Dance introduced, Vegeta's death, and the Z-Sword. However, instead of just blindly following instructions, Gohan challenges the notion of using a sword to kill Buu while they're flying to the outcrop. Unlike in the manga, the Z-Sword would be imbued with a unique type of magic from Kaioshins that allows it to counteract Buu's Majin based magical techniques, including his regeneration - meaning that if a limb or something is cut off, it permanently remains that way, making the sword a highly valuable tool to have when going into battle. I'm not sure whether a legend could be applied about the sword choosing its wielder or not. It sounds like DBM's explanation, but I actually liked their reasoning behind Gohan pulling it out. It may not just be about physical strength, something which I would stress Kaioshin and the others lack but make up for in magic/Ki manipulation similar to Guldo. Gohan requires SSJ2 to pull it out. When Kibito is offered to hold the sword, he fails, albeit doing so in a more...serious manner. Really, if you haven't guessed by now, I'm just not into the comedy this arc used and prefer to redefine it so that it's more along the lines of the earlier arcs.

Goku is not certain he would have won against Fat Buu when factoring in his regeneration and the need to accumulate as much power as possible to destroy him completely, an unlikely possibility given the nature of his opponent who childishly acts in the interest of immediate gratification. I would keep the filler where Goku transforms into SSJ3 for Goten and Trunks, but there would be an ulterior motive to try and grasp the mechanics behind it for future acquirement.

Not sure how you can redefine Old Kai's character as being anything more than a gag. His demands are outrageous and so is the premise behind his existence. All I can say is to have Kibito and Kaioshin not bulge their eyes or mouth at his shenanigans.

Fusion arc

Goten transforms for the first time at the image of his mother being turned and crushed by Super Buu. The tragedies brought to both of the young sons' families motivates them to do everything they can to unlock SSJ3. Thanks to their inexperience and childish nature, they still treat the initial fight with Super Buu normally. But I don't care for Piccolo being exploited for comic relief. Gotenks' idiocy would prompt a responce similar to the kind seen when he first was disciplining Gohan years ago.

There is no secret motivation to absorb Gotenks here because this is the final fight. Super Buu is made much stronger than in the original timeline, somewhat greater than Gohan even. The logic for his near death with Gotenks is that he underestimated the kid too much and it took him a moment to recover.

I want both power ups to mean something here. No Potara, just Gohan and Gotenks finally taking up the mantle of their deceased fathers by defeating Buu. If possible, I would try and incorporate Kaioshin into this. I feel like his character should be redeemed somehow. Their fates are tied directly with Buu's.

Final scene of the manga depicts Gohan as the head of the Son household and of the Z-warriors, having finally succeeded in balancing his civilian life with his duty as protector. Goten and Trunks have also matured as people and warriors, so they're standing with Gohan in his duties to protect the planet.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If it seems like there's a lot of Kaioshin favouritism then I apologise. His actions were directly or partly responsible for many of the shortcomings in the original manga. These are my thoughts on how a more competent Kaioshin would work in a more seriously defined arc.
I'm fine with how everything turned out to be for the most part. The only things I would change would be Gotenks only using SSJ and the series ending right after Pure Buu's defeat instead of doing the 10 year timeskip.
1: I would still have had Gohan not train, maybe train a little and only get slightly weaker, "mainly in regards to skill/battle sense".
2: I would have made the form that is considered going past the Super Saiyan Limits, SSJ2; unique to Gohan.
3: Goku would have trained, got stronger and learned to combine Kaioken with Super Saiyan.
4: Vegeta would have trained, got stronger, mastered SSJ like he does, but also learned how to combine MSSJ with SSJ G2/G3 for short bursts of increased attack power. "Similar to Multiverse's Future Trunks."
This way all 3 Saiyans are unique.
This would have made Goku VS Vegeta a lot more interesting I feel, with using different kinds of abilities against each other.
Gohan would still have all the high school stuff, it suited Gohan's character and was pretty fun. And the reveal as the Great Saiyaman as the Gold Fighter when he went SSJ2 at the Tournament was pretty cool.
Difference here is I wouldn't have had Gohan go SSJ2 against Kabito, he would have just gone FPSSJ.
From there, everything would basically still be playing out exactly as it does in the Manga, up until the point Goku and Vegeta fight each other, as they would be using different kinds of powers against each other.
I would completely change Buu's design and character, make him more chaotic, demonic and alien from the very start, maybe something like out of a horror movie or something, Like Pure Buu, but more creepy, and a bit more intelligence, but still less intelligent than Super Buu.
I personally think it's a pretty cool how Gohan was trying to remember the rage from back against Cell with the Flashback, really deep scene, a lot of tension and emotion to it.
He's trying so hard to use his True Power but cant.
Everything would go the same, Buu would own MSSJ Gohan and Supreme Kai.
Vegeta would defeat Goku in the same way he actually did, with that trick.
Buu would be slightly weaker than he actually was to accommodate to how I downscaled the power levels.
Vegeta would get an epic fight against Buu. Using his MSSJ w/ bursts of G2/G3 when needed, but would loose, just not as badly as Gohan did. Similar to how it actually went.
At the end, he'd go fully MSSJ G3 and sacrifice himself an a massive epic explotion "similar again".
Buu would have mutations, changing randomly, but he'd always have the demonic, horror feel to him.
Piccolo would still have gotten spat on by Dabura, but see he would have trained during the time-skip and would be on MSSJ Vegeta's level.
Later on, Goku would be forced to face him to buy time for gathering the Dragonballs, like what happened, however it would be both Goku and Piccolo, tying back to the tag team against Raditz.
Goku would be in MSSJ, Piccolo just going all out. Piccolo starts to get beaten after a bit, Goku uses a maximum Kaioken that he never used earlier to try and hold Buu off, Piccolo would be like, wow he's stronger than Gohan was against Cell.
Gohan would train with the Z-Sword, there would be no old Kai, except the Sword would draw on his Hidden Power and draw it out so he can use it more freely, and the training itself would be making his Base stronger.
Goku eventually has to return to other world and it's up to the Kids and Piccolo to hold off Buu.
Fusion would still happen, except obviously there'd only be MSSJ and nothing higher, and I'd have him actually look like a fusion between Goten and Trunks, and not a mini Vegeta. Probably have Purple hair, but with thick bangs and spikes. in a style similar but different to maybe MSSJ Gohan at the Cell Games, but different so it could be recognized as the combination of Trunk's and Goten's features.
Eventually Gohan would come back after his training, weilding the Z-Sword, would be able to go SSJ2 easily, and be a fair bit stronger and more confident to the point he's slightly stronger than Buu. And he'd ask to be put in Goku's outfit as a moniker of respect since he just left his dad behind in other world. I feel Gohan in SSJ2 wielding the Z-sword in the orange gi would look so much better than Ultimate Gohan.
Gohan would defeat Buu, Goku and Vegeta would stay dead. Could have had a cool scene with Goku and Vegeta meeting in otherworld after Goku manages to get Vegeta a body somehow maybe?
I would say make Gohan the main character after Goku's time is up, but then we wouldn't get the awesomeness that is Vegito.
The awesomeness that was Vegetto could be a storyline for Gohan.
Aside from the fusion part of it, Gohan's story could follow the storyline of himself on Kaioshin's world but connecting up to Vegetto's storyline of besting Boo and then tricking Boo into absorbing him so that he could save everyone who was absorbed. Gohan's smart and sensitive enough to think of a strategy like that where he saves his friends by using his enemy's rage against them.
Goku and Vegeta would be absorbed by Boo, and then freed by Gohan. Then Boo destroys the Earth, and it could've been them three against a super powered Boo (Kid or not) on Kaiosama's world.
To be honest, I wouldn't even bother introducing Super Saiyan 3. The form became useless due to the strain...
Or only Goku would be able to use it... or only a version of Vegetto/Gogeta could use it. Maybe Goku would be able to use it after learning it in Fusion.
Goten and Trunks would only be able to reach Super Saiyan by becoming Gotenks, who would be around Perfect Cell or SSj2 Cell Era Gohan level, tops. Him being a fusion would make him abnormally strong for a novice Super Saiyan; therefore he would be relevant enough to fight, but not a main player in the game like he was in the real series.
The whole Oob fiasco wouldn't have occurred as it seems to somewhat contradict what occurs in BoG/RoF.
Or it could, but BoG/RoF could take place after Oob.
I can't seem to find my response to a similar thread, so...
1) Like many others, I would severely limit Gotenks' capabilities. I would change up his power scope as well. Giving him Super Saiyan 3 was an insult to the form and to Goku. I would prohibit him from gaining the form and give him Super Saiyan 2 in place of it. We didn't get enough Super Saiyan 2 action before Super Saiyan 3 was introduced. Instead of Gotenks already being stronger than Goku before the RoSaT training, I would toss him into the RoSaT from the start. He'd gain Super Saiyan 2 in there and there would be no ridiculousness of him testing Darwinism by using Super Saiyan 1 first against Boo; he'd start out as a Super Saiyan 2 and push Boo to his limits.
2) Goku's battle with Majin Boo would be different — it would be a lot closer. Instead of a leisurely warm-up, Goku and Boo would be throwing kill shots. This would be make Goku seem like less of an a***** character-wise, it would heighten the legitimacy of Majin Boo through showing that even a Super Saiyan 3 isn't enough, it would heighten the legitimacy of Fusion, and it would give a more valid reason for Goku's time being sucked away so quickly.
3) Gohan would undoubtedly be the strongest singular being after Elder Kaioshin's ritual, which instead of being Gohan sitting on his a*** for 24 hours, it would be Gohan going through intense mental trials to actually unlock the power deep within him. Once he's finished with the ritual, he'd head back to Earth and stomp a mudhole in Boo like normal.
4) Less humor. It's fine to include some more humor than the Cell arc provided, but the Boo arc we got went overboard, particularly with Gotenks.
5) Tone down the unnecessary amounts of Majin Boo, and by that I mean his transformations. I'd get rid of Fat Boo completely, and just bring in Pure Boo from the start. From there, allow him to absorb Gotenks. Vegeta and Goku show up and merge into Vegetto, but after they split inside Boo, Boo absorbs them too. So it'd be up to Gohan to save the day again.
6) f*** Gotenks.
"I am the bone of my sword."
Honestly, Goku needs to stay dead and Vegeta needs to not throw a fit. At this point Gohan was the one who has had the fate of the world on his shoulders and it was his job to fight in the stead of his father. Now that time has passed, its time Gohan passed on the knowledge and skills to the next generation, Goten and Trunks. Gohan also shouldn't be getting so weak. he doesn't need to train his butt of every day but he should have that sort of calm mentor mentality not unlike his Future self a combination of strength of body and strength of mind.
Everything pretty much happens up until the Majin Vegeta part (except replace Goku's part on the ship with Piccolo) give the Namek some time to shine. Also we don't need Kaioshin or any of that Z-sword stuff. Spopovich and Yamu can attack and the others can follow them to figure out what's happening. At this point if Vegeta needs to be taken under control, it should be as such. It should really delve into Vegeta's mind that he does still have hidden evil in him that he's trying to suppress and the others have to ultimately smack some sense into him and prove that he can go on without needing to prove his superiority over Goku.
I do not want Vegeta to start going evil because of his obscene butthurt-ness.
At this point Majin Boo gets released, due to everyone trying to stop Vegeta. We go back to the place before where Vegeta fights Boo and ultimately sacrifices his life to try and stop him. Unlike last time where Vegeta was just being a plain dick, here he had little control over Babibi's influence and doesn't go straight to hell. Perhaps we get a scene where Spirit Vegeta fist bumps Spirit Goku.
Of course Boo is still alive and is causing chaos around the world. Babidi at this point can remain dead, he's honestly not all that important. So everyone's meeting up, Gohan, Piccolo, etc trying to figure out how to stop Majin Boo from killing everyone. There might be suggestions of using the ROSAT or something but ultimately they know that at any point Boo could destroy the world. Then Dende comes over with The Great Book of Namek Lore detailing (Along with Super Saiyan God for lulz) the power of Fusion remarked in the book. It's a bit of a cop out I suppose but we need a little BS in the Boo Arc.
Everyone's like, this might actually work. But we find out there's certain aspects that fusion needs to work and they discover that Goten and Trunks are the best candidates. So now its up to teach the kids this fusion dance and defeat Boo. But meanwhile it seems Boo's about to arrive at West City and destroy it. Someone's got to save Bulma's family! Well Goku's dead and Gohan's teaching the kids fusion, so its up to Piccolo to take the helm. He arrives, bringing forth some new Ancient Namek Traditional Power that increases the users ability 100 fold or some s***, proceeding to duke it out with Boo. Unfortunately despite giving Boo a good fight, Piccolo is ultimately felled.
Our heroes have a lost a lot of good people at this point. Luckily for them fusion seems to have worked. The bad news is Gotenks is being Gotenks and needs a real attitude adjustment. So at this point Gotenks acts stupid and nearly screws up everything. So Gohan's got to smack the little upstart a bit and teach him how to take things seriously.
Meanwhile Mr. Satan's part comes, befriending Boo and things seem to be working out and pupppy gets shot. Well you know what happens, Super Boo is born and heads to the Lookout. Perhaps out of desire to kill people there or perhaps Piccolo told him to wait a bit so that a new opponent would be waiting. Either way Super Boo is here and there ain't no way Gotenks can win.
Gotenks gets sent into the Rosat but instead of Boo waiting, Boo's ready for action. Of course Gohan can't let Boo do whatever and he's the stronger person here. So right now, as the kids train in the ROSAT for an undetermined number of days, Gohan has to do everything he can to protect the earth just as his father did. The only way to do this is to get the ever loving snot beat out of him until he starts digging into his hidden raging potential, managing to trade a few blows with Boo but of course being overpowered and defeated.
But then.
Da! Da! Daaaaa!
The doors open up! And out steps the kids, Boo looking over surprised just as he's about to lay down the killing blow on Gohan. Who the hell are these kids? Rage and froth and suck my antennae, I'll eat their face! So now it's the final battle between Gotenks and Super Boo for the sake of the world.
The bad thing though is that, Supa Boo tuu stronk! Super Boo beat kids butt hole open! Super Boo far too powerful. It's not looking good until Gohan comes, making the ultimate sacrifice to save Gotenks. Seeing his mentor and brother fall, little Gotenks can no longer take it. Thus, with a snap, a roar and an epic Hironobu Kageyama theme, the birth of SSJ3 Gotenks comes to life. Goku was the first Super Saiyan, Gohan was the first Super Saiyan 2 and now Goten/Trunks are the first Super Saiyan 3.
At this point, all bets are off. Boo and Gotenks are duking it out mono-de-mono across the earth, shattering mountains, splitting oceans and reversing the space time continuum. It's the ultimate battle of the series and just when it looks like Gotenks might pull out the final win...he defuses.
Well that sucks, everyone dies, the end. :)
OR DOES IT!?!?
Bada! Baaaa!
MR. SATAN ARRIVES!
The hero of earth has come. He tries to plead with Boo to remember the good times they had, to stop this senseless killing and be at peace. But Super Boo ain't having none of this, he goes to kill Satan when he stops! He can't control himself! Something is keeping him from killing his old friend. Is it mercy? No it's Fat Boo whose emotional state has caused Super Boo to go wild. Unable to hold onto his vast power thanks to Fatt's influence, Boo is forced to spit out Fat Boo and drastically decrease his power.
Super Boo may be weakened but the kids don't have enough time to perform fusion again and Boo is still significantly stronger than everyone else. Even with Good Boo on their side, it doesn't look like they can win. Which at point we get our Genki-Dama moment. From the afterlife we hear a voice. After all this time, Goku makes his appearance! He coaches the kids to stand up and fight. He attempts to get Goten to create a Genki-Dama, doing his best to teach him how to use the move. Mr. Satan also lends his help, telling the people of the Earth to lend their strength to defeat Boo. Trunks and Boo are getting knocked around by Super Boo.
A few more moments and with the backings of Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Vegeta and all their friends from the Afterlife or Earth, Goten, along with a helpful push from Trunks, finally destroys the evil Super Boo. Cheers and hoorays for all! Good Boo stays with Mr. Satan and the kids are now the next in line to keep the earth protected.
Dragon Ball's can fix stuff up later if necessary, not that important, the end.
