Where does the idea that ssj draws power from laten power or potential or whatever come from?

Sorry. I'm almost always on my phone when I'm on dbzf so it's easy for me to miss things and make typos

Where does the theory come from? How did people come up it?

Probably because the terms "hidden potential/latent powers" were tossed about so frequently in the story. It just became an assumption I suppose. Gohan had the most latent power, which led him to figuring out the SSJ2 transformation first.

Because Super-Saiyan being a multiplier doesn't make sense, I think.

Bringer of Death actually had a good theory for why SSJ isn't a multiplier. They said that since Goku's base strength was pretty much shredded after using the Spirit Bomb, a 50 times multiplier wouldn't automatically restore his base back to normal. So they came up with the idea that SSJ simply unlocks a vast reservoir of energy built up into your body that raises your power by roughly 140 million I think.

I prefer even that. The legendary strongest in the universe just being some random multiplier doesn't make any sense to me.

I used to prefer this too but I really hate the notion that the Saiyan's ever passed max Freeza in their bases that I've gone back to the multipliers.

Maybe the stronger they grow, the more power they can get out of Super-Saiyan, even-though that might be complicated system.
