All the characters whom are married don't have a ring. In Japan is it common for marriages not to have rings? Just curious. I understand Goku not having one but Vegeta(imagine his reaction) or Krillin giving their Wives one. |

It comes down to personal preference in real life. I suppose in DB, it's the same story. |
Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power. | |

Marriages in DB seem to be rather unofficial. It seems that two characters only have to say that they're hitched, and then the two are considered married. It seems that Chi Chi considered Goku her husband before the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai even ended, and we never witnessed any ceremony. Vegeta didn't seem to consider himself as married to Bulma until later in the Boo arc when he finds out that Goku used Bulma as a bartering chip to get Old Kai to unlock Gohan's hidden ki. I don't think Vegeta and Bulma are married yet. |

Marriages in the DB universe don't seem to be as important or official as they are in our world. I think it's safe to assume that marriage culture in the DB universe just isn't the same as it is in RL. Chichi and Goku are "married," but I wouldn't consider their marriage in any way similar to the marriages we have. The "marriage" of Vegeta and Bulma is debatable. As far as I know, they had no official ceremony or statement of marriage. I would call them partners, but I wouldn't exactly call them a married couple. |

Even if they are supposed to have wedding rings in a "dragonball marriage", i doubt they would put that detail in or they simply forgot to. ....but as others have said, we don't know what constitutes a marriage in dragon ball, the manga doesn't even mention any ceremonies in any capacity, while the anime includes Goku and Chichi's wedding. Bulma and Vegeta are referred to as husband and wife from the buu saga onward, including the manga and BOG, ROF etc. so they at least consider themselves husband and wife, the same could be said of Krillan and 18. And the sheet in the "10 years after" chapter of the manga has an arrow from videl to gohan saying they are married, but that doesn't really give us an indication to what is required to be married in the dragonball universe. |
