Seeing how popular fighting came during the time between 21st To 23rd. Are you shocked that there wasn't more rival martial arts schools as years went on. Not major rivals but minor rivals. How about more marital arts schools in general in Dragonball? Should they been introduced? |

Martial-arts schools: Turtle Crane Monkey Serpent (Dragon). I imagine something like that. I'm not shocked that amount of schools weren't introduced, but having a couple more would have been nice. More earthlings with high potential (like Krillin, Ten, Yamcha, others) would have had the chance to build the numbers on the Z Gang. Edited by Professor Gohan, Oct 11 2015, 11:27 AM.

There were more martial arts but none could reach the Crane and Turtle hermit ones. I mean Roshi and Crane where on a whole other level for the world and made sense they were superior to anything else. I could see more existing but been quite below the other two. |

Wasn't it mentioned somewhere that Kami and Piccolo practiced their own unique school of martial arts? They do have some fairly eccentric techniques and styles which Piccolo noted about Goku oddly having knowledge of. Like others said, I wouldn't mind a few other schools being introduced with their own distinct brands and styles, but the two most prominent would be the Turtle and Crane Schools. Maybe the others could come together in some kind of alliance at some point and equal them though. |

I don't see why not Sky Dragon's school couldn't be in the universe. Him actually existing doesn't contradict anything. |

If I can recall correctly, in Dragonball, while Goku is traversing through the wilderness he came across this village where a martial arts master lived. He was sick or something and had to fight in front of the king to prove his school as the top school in the town. He seemed to match Goku's strength, and probably surpassed it in his prime. The antagonist of the episode was this other guy who ran a different school who's name was like Sky Dragon and he had a giant brother. So, in one episode, 2 schools seem to match Turtle/cranes abilities. |
