When will aspects of society adapt to disabled people?

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Why is it that with so many people who struggle to do something so normally simple as a phone call we can't just email instead most of the time?

I think it's pretty ridiculous that we haven't had things like live chat integrated in to services such as banking, to make things easier.
And quite frankly it's difficult for people without these issues anyway since most call centers in the UK at least are filled with foreign people.

Nothing against foreign people don't get me wrong but it's pretty hard to resolve issues when neither party understands each other that well, would text chat not be the much more logical option anyway? Doesn't matter how foreign anyone's accent is if they can just talk in the same language via text.
My language is that of low mumble, that + an Indian accent I can't follow isn't a good combo

Aside from that there's being told you have to go to job meetings and stuff like that, again how is someone without people to fall back on supposed to cope? You can go on benefits for having a disability and not have to put up with that...not exactly something people with severe anxiety could set up alone though is it?
Many issues like this don't get picked up on until someone is older, sometimes not even at all. So they don't have the support of a diagnosis they're just expected to function normally.

When will we get to the point where things are made easy for people with mental difficulties?
Though to be fair in this age of computers and texting it's becoming an increasing issue that people can't and don't want to talk face to face.

No

things are improving, but obv there can always be room or improvements. there are organisations that help people do this kind of stuff for them but again obv you have to contact them first in order to get the help in the first place, plus idk how widespread they are. i know at least in my borough there are a few cuz ive worked with them before. and idk what bank youre with but i just checked mine and they have webchat services. same goes w my phone network.

Flashy Thing!

There are two pretty simple barriers at play; money and a person (or persons) in power who actually cares. Money is a factor because things need to be changed and improved (i.e., skilled/trained personnel). As cool as democracy is, without someone in power who cares, it will be very hard to create change in society.

I read that stadiums are being forced to make themselves more accessible to disabled people. So we are moving forward a bit.

And I'm pretty sure they are scrapping the very flawed system we use to identify who needs what money. I heard someone with one leg needed to appeal to get his disability allowance. The system is broke and I'm glad they finally recognise it.

This is the core issue here. It used to be easy, and even convinent to calll and talk on the phone. There's become an even more impersonal solution made -- texting/Email.

Human Socialization is dying, and we're becoming impersonal. This is truly scary, since this factors into another discussion about the narcissistic tendencies of my generation and the newest one.

Email/Texting is ultimately not the answer.. It's unfortunate that there's not more support for disabled individuals, but fortunately most people are not.

To be fair I think we're definitely pushing forward with this sort of thing.

It's because getting anything changed at a bank is a slow and silly process. I imagine it's the same for other corporate environments.
