So what if vegeta and trunks trained with each other in the ROSAT?

Google Chrome Favourite Manga Hokuto no Ken, Berserk, Dragon Ball, Rurouni Kenshin, Attack on Titan, Kuroshitsuji	Provided the gains were enormous enough, they might be able to actually put up a fight against Initial Perfect Cell instead of being derided and tossed around like a rag doll; this is made even more plausible if they choose to work together in battling their opponent instead of taking turns. The outcome wouldn't have much long-term benefit though because Cell could easily just power himself up to a moderate degree and continue with devastating everyone.

Because it's implied they did train together. Vegeta knows Trunks is only a smidgen behind him, and Trunks knows Vegeta ascended in two months flat. Vegeta also told Trunks not to reveal anything about their training, which would be kind of asshole-ish if they didn't train together. There's also Vegeta wanting to go in separately the second time. It would make more sense if he'd had his fill of being around Trunks if they trained together the first time.
