Naruto Gaiden had Salad(Sarada) get her sharigun(spelled incorrectly) due to excitement of meeting her father. Wouldn't it be cool if we saw a SSJ transformation out of excitement as a cool gag scene. Like say Whis tell Goku he's fighting a ultra super strong guy stronger than Whis. Goku would jump around in excitement and turn SSJ by accident?

So Goku was trying to go SSJ against Freeza? I'll rephrase. Anything beyond initial transformation is a conscious decision, and when it's not, it's from rage, not excitement. Even Future Gohan suggested that he couldn't simply do it on his own, and his transformations required him thinking about something that pissed him off in order to initiate it. This, by default, could be considered a conscious effort. Goku stated that it took him a little while to learn how to do it willingly, but we never see him sporadically transform after that. In manga canon, we've never seen it happen sporadically after initial forms. And either way, Goku when he launches the Genki Dama at Kid Boo stated that he was all out of ki. It was only after he regained his ki from Porunga to which he could transform into a Super Saiyan. The fact that he couldn't transform before practically states that transformed states at that point in the series are conscious decisions made by the person in order to initiate the transformation.
