For example Frieza with practically no ki can withstand a planet explosion in his face. A saiyan on the other hand would die if a common Ray gun hit them. Now my question is, when ki is added to friezas natural durability and a somewhat close amount of ki is added to goku's natural durability, Frieza should still be far more durable right? That doesn't seem like how it is though. Why?

Google Chrome Favourite Manga Hokuto no Ken, Berserk, Dragon Ball, Rurouni Kenshin, Attack on Titan, Kuroshitsuji	Discrepant durability isn't necessarily unheard of. Super Buu had his body perforated by bullets from a machine gun. So Frieza having a bodily resistance to outside trauma wouldn't be too out of the norm.

Freeza has abnormal natural defenses - seemingly more than even Whis as Beerus despite the large ki discrepancy.

Who are you to say that freeza didn't have a small amount of energy left which he still had in reserve? In real life, a man who has been cut in half, is still alive, been layed down to the hospital bed. So it merely proves that humans who, have been cut in half, can still survive. I don't really think that it has anything to do with freeza's anatomy. Since, Goku trained under 100x earth's gravity. Yet when goku fought freeza, freeza had no trouble at all hitting him hard and such. I doubt that freeza has been performing training under 100x gravity let alone training at all during that time period. Goku trained under 10x earth's gravity on north kaio's planet. Yet beings such as vegeta had no trouble hitting him at all, despite the fact that planet vegeta got ereased quite a while ago. Meaning vegeta shouldn't've been used 10x earth's gravity.
