GT asked that same question. The results were not good....

Like I said DragonBall GT was written by someone else (and it wasn't even really little Goku), and it didn't even have the atmosphere of DragonBall. For some reason they tried to do something else all-together, so that's not really a good example.

GT was like, the love-child of DB & Z, and during the pregnancy DB smoked a lot of ciggies and drank a lot of brooze.

I agree with Hure. Kid Goku was great, Dragon Ball was great. Z sux in comparison. They should definitely make more DB content, but they won't since Z is their cash-cow.

Kid Goku >>> Adult Goku >>> GT Goku >>> Son "I-wanna-be-Goku" Goten.

Yeah, Goten is nothing compared to him.

Sadly I think this might be true, but hopefully AT do something, though. We haven't seen anything since I think the King-Piccolo Saga ended back then (other than Path to the Power, but that's a re-telling). I miss him. :'( :'( :'(

He was much more tolerable as a kid. His naiveness got a bit annoying as the story went on.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

True, but I couldn't resist making that joke anyway :D

I guess I'm the only one who prefers adult Goku. I just find him much more interesting to watch, even if he is more flawed. Kid Goku is just kinda the same thing over and over, and his lack of knowledge about everything gets old fast.

Goku was more likeable, and the jokes in DragonBall were funnier too. Also what do you mean his lack of knowledge? He learns more as he explores more of the world (and also what Master Roshi teaches him).

I just find him rather bland. He's okay, but I don't find him all that entertaining to watch.

Personally I found DBZ's humour funnier, it just happened far less often, and most of it came from the anime at that.

I think Adult Goku is really bad.

But I guess your opinion is your opinion.

Thala na Gethu!

Like a user posted, GT was made for reasons like this alone...and it bombed. Not even Kid Goku could save his show...

And there are fans till this date (note: Gt ended freakin aeons ago) criticizin that Goku should've never been turned into a kid as it'll provide some serious moments
in an otherwise lunatic, slapstick gag show

I'll admit. Chibi Goku (Pilaf~21st Tenkaichi Budoikai Arc) was rollicking fun. But as fun as he was, I'd say he doesn't come anywhere close to his Z-counterpart.

Chibi Goku was one-note character, that Toriyama's himself realized & made him surrounded by variety of diverse characters like Oolong,Roshi etc. Either way, it didnt change the fact that Toriyama's initial concept of his protagonist to be bland & kiddie fare, which was not the case with Z. If I wanna watch shows dominated by kids or pre-teens, I'd watch Naruto, Bleach, OP, YY Hakusho, FMAB and the list goes forever..

Adult Goku however has many "layers" to his character despite being the most simplistic protagonist in shounen history. Be it Friendship (with Krillin, Bulma, Tien), rivalry (Piccolo, Veggie) or Teacher-Student relationship (EoZ Goku~Uub)

The fact that there are debates till this date questioning his "wise" decisions in Cell & Buu Arc says alot about his character
