Racism has reach it's all time peak

There have been so many cases of racism in this world, especially in the US or in European countries. There should be equality everywhere we go. For instance, why are all these cops in the US targeting mainly black people (who are mostly innocent) or why did this Muslim kid Ahmed get interrogated to the extreme? Fact is, if you are white, you don't have to worry about going through situations as much, in my opinion. If that Church shooter Dylan Roof was black or Muslim, he wouldn't be bailed out that easily.

What do you guys think can be done to change all this inequality?

To say racism has reached its all time peak is simply wrong. There was a time when black people couldn't even walk on the same side of the street as white people. When they were only allowed certain jobs and had to attend separate schools. Don't get me wrong, there are still many serious issues that need to be dealt with but to suggest that it's worse than ever is baloney.

Now what can be done about it? Well first of the all the people in charge need to recognise that there is a problem. Then literally every single police officer needs to be put through a refreshment course so they can be re educated on proper procedure and professional standards. And when they get it wrong they need to be dealt with more harshly than they are now.

Now lets move on to schools. There should be a few more lessons being given on tolerance and respect from day one. Bullying, especially racist bullying should be a zero tolerance, auto suspension offence.

Work places. It's the same thing as the police. Refresher course and harsh penalties for breaking the rules.

Racism has not reached Its peak.
We are far over the top on a steep descend.

I'd say racism is at an all time low tbh, and getting lower every year.
I agree It's still an issue though, and a big one.

Because sadly, the media perpetuates the tension against the Muslims and portray them as the ones that attacked America and freedom on 9-11. The media doesn't show everyday Muslims living their lives and what effects they go through. Fox news shows the 9-11, buildings getting bombed, Bin Laden.

Its become a generational thing, in my experience, as some people from previous generations just dont see things the way the later generations do.

I for one was taught that all people are equal, and thats how I see it. I teach this to my daughter as well, and I know others do the same. It'll never "not" be a thing, but racism and all derogatory views on peoples race/sexuality/etc will be at a real minimum in the next 2-3 generations I think.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

So you're saying racism now is worse than when the slave trade was commonplace? Ok.

I'm really not sure if the case with Ahmed was racism so much as sheer dumbassery. It could be racism, but quite frankly, it seems more likely that the administration just had a stick up their a***(you should hear about the prison sentences for water guns).

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Not just Muslim's but basically everyone that isn't white.

(off the point but you never hear fuss about Asians in a racial manner...)

All the s*** about racist cops just perpetuates it, even though half the time they had every right to shoot...sometimes they don't or they come out all guns blazing way too fast.
The problem is though it's never acknowledged when a black cop kills/harms a black civilian but when a white cop does it it's automatically racism and people focus on every tiny detail.
Never anything about black on black or black on white crime either.

Honestly I don't think there's nearly as much of a problem in our civilized countries as the media tries to enforce that there is, it's just that when literally anything happens to an ethnic minority it's labelled as a hate crime when it's usually as standard as any crime.
If a white guy beats up a black guy for f***ing it's wife it's not because he's black it's because the dude f***ed his wife but the headlines would be "BRUTAL hate crime by convicted RACIST who also stole candy from a BABY"

I mean I'm sure any black people on this forum can walk down the street without being smashed over the head by a baseball bat, the media makes it seem like if you're black and go outside you're asking to be attacked...obviously not the case, depends on your area more than it does your race.

Saying that racism has reach its all time peak is just...pushing it. There's no doubt that discrimination and prejudice still runs rampant throughout the country (here in the USA at least) with blacks and other minorities having a hugely disproportionate reflection among the white majority. Whether this is through the job market, criminal justice system, etc.

And there's no doubt that even now its still a notable problem that still stands today. The average black male earns only about 75 cents for every dollar a white person has.

However, saying that racism, discrimination and prejudice has reached and all time high is rather off putting and I've heard it from other places as well. This simply comes off as surprising when you come to the aspect of just how much people like the black community and women have come along since the past. I guarantee you that as bad as it may look now, it was a lot worse back then when they had little if any rights at all.

The problems lies I believe in that, even though racism and discrimination isn't as egregious as it was 50 or so years ago (and much more back in the slave days but I feel we're most likely talking Post-Slavery here) especially with education and the younger generation being far...far more accepting ( I mean heck we finally got gay marriage legalized)

It's that there's still such a huge rate of disproportionate actions against minority compared to whites that its just easy to see how the minority has gotten the shortest stick of the bunch.

I believe that, much like what happened with Gay Marriage, as time goes on, we are naturally going to become more and more progressive and this entire thing will, very slowly perhaps, continue to move downward. Each newer generation is, hopefully, going to become more and more accepting. It's not just racism either, we have a huge divide between the rich and the poor (which unfortunately the minority group slides to the latter part of that). There's still a huge problem with white privileged and most all I think...

There's that simple point where those that are encompassing these whole ideas are the ones in power. This is why I just can't accept the Republican views on traditionalism and other aspects because its causing a huge strain against other groups and really only helping a group that let's be honest, doesn't need that much help to begin with. Unfortunately its these kind of people who are in a state of power, whether its social, educational, political, etc.

I mean, we're still pretty much diving down from the whole fiasco of racism and discrimination in the 70s and stuff and there is little doubt we still have a ways to go.

Keyboard Warriors, Everywhere.

Non white people thinking their the victims all the time, thats what can change.

Keyboard Warrior

1. A Person who, being unable to express his anger through physical violence (owning to their physical weakness, lack of bravery and/or conviction in real life), instead manifests said emotions through the text-based medium of the internet, usually in the form of aggressive writing that the Keyboard Warrior would not (for reasons previously mentioned) be able to give form to in real life.

2. Keyboard Warriors are generally identified by unneccessary rage in their written communications, and are regarded as 'losers' by other virtual identities on the internet.
