But couldn't just yamcha say that to marron just to comfort her ? It sounds a lot better than:Your dad is the strongest earthling, excluding Tien. But I'll still stay on Krillin's side, just because Toriyama confirmed it. |

You can write off the first part of his statement as comfort, since Krillin is obviously not stronger than the Saiyans or even his own wife, but he didn't say the second part to Maron, making it a direct statement to the audience through Toriyama. |

This is one reason why you need to look at the manga for context rather than just reading quotes of Herms strength checker. |

Krillin until something actually provides evidence otherwise. So far everything points in Krillin's favor. |

I have to ask, before Toriyama's 2004 interview, did anyone truly think Krillin was the strongest earthling? Now it seems easy to piece everything together and see it that way, but before, I'm not so sure. |

I won't lie to you but I always thought that Tien was stronger, because he is constantly training whereas Krillin gave up on fighting, and logically he should be stronger. I guess the gap between Tien and Krillin is massive. |

Were it not for Toriyama and the Daizenshuu's word, I probably would think that Tien being superior could be argued. Yamcha is making a statement without full understanding of the relative strength positions of the characters whom he is comparing Krillin to. A large part of it is presumptive because he has no knowledge on just how much Tien may have improved over the 7 year time skip while Krillin had only just recently come out of retirement after 7 years of deterioration. Mind you, he did so for the purpose of participating in what he thought was going to be a casual tournament so he could win prize money. I suppose Guru's potential unlock coupled with training on Roshi's Island is just that much better than 266 days of intense training with King Kai w/ sparring partners plus training in the extremities of the planet with his powerful companion. |

It doesn't have to be massive. Ten's training just shouldn't lead to massive gains, which is where people get tripped up. They automatically assume he's going to gain like he did for the Saiyans and quadruple his power every year or so, but it's never worked like that in the series. Training gains are plot-reliant and are never consistent. Disregarding author intent, Yamcha's statement would have to be going off of the last time he had a read on both of them, which would likely have been the Cell Games. |

Why is it so hard to believe that Krillin's powerup put him to the point that Tien couldn't catch up? He already went from barely over 10,000 to enough to help against Vegeta's assumed 2nd form Freeza. Imo he could easily be 1 million or over by the time he died, since that power at that point would be so insignificant that it wouldn't be worth commenting on. Tien on the otherhand would be at less than 2,000 trying to work his way up, wouldn't be surprised if he left Kaio's planet before reaching even 50,000. Add in the fact that Krillin only stopped training sometime after Cell (I'm not sure if we're given an exact date, it might be when Marron was born, so only about 3-4 years), and then the extra month he did spend training, possibly with #18, and having Krillin above Tien isn't so weird at all. |

If only Yamcha and Tien got the same power ups as Krillin. Then Tien would be stronger fo sho. Funny because there's an old DBZ game that has Yamcha, Tien, and Chaitzou surviving the Saiyan fight and getting their potentials unlocked by Guru alongside Krillin. |

I suppose people want to justify Tenshinhan training for 266 days as opposed to Krillin running around Namek and getting a random power-up. |

Those same people like to talk half Saiyan potential but ignore that silly power up is also the only reason Gohan got to Goku and Vegeta tier. They got their power up from fighting, but he got his level from guru just like Krillin did too Tien may still not be stronger ... Krillin got more out of Kamis training than all 5 guys. His power was comparable between them then, and by all means when it came time to show what they had Krillin showed more power in a blast without using life energy and better hand to hand close quarter fighting skills vs Nappa. You could just as easily say all things equal, the potential unlock and King Kai training, Krillin comes out ahead. Krillin aside from filler and his last death at Buu, never went to the afterlife. He was stick in limbo in dragonball and when Frieza killed him so he spent however long he was dead both times without a body and training. If they all get the same power up, it's more plausible that Krillin comes out ahead of them all anyhow since he's younger and he was getting bigger gains with Gokus training styles dating back to Kami than Yamcha or Tien. * I don't get anyone thinking Krillin isn't he strongest human in dbz lore. - He makes every movie and is brought into every fight. - In filler he's pronounced the strongest in other world sans Pikkon - in the manga Yamcha clarifies his statement in his head to compare him to humans - in filler again, Krillin makes Cell out right scream in pain with a shoulder tackle - he has a better training partner than any human - battle of gods material calls him that - the Nintendo games have Goku teach him kaioken and the spirit bomb over them - he's shown is GT to think he can stand up to 17 which follows Z anime and is shocked when he can't because 17 is hell powered. - Hell Toonami had a Krillin commercial like with Vegeta, Piccolo, Goku, and Gohan - Vegeta only calls him and piccolo by name, never mentioning the non Saiyans besides Bulma, which speaks volume for what he thinka of him Edited by Kblo247, Sep 20 2015, 05:12 AM.

So Piccolo can go from being considerably inferior to Nappa to impressing Nail within 6 days, yet Tien, being part of a group of earthlings with a defining and consistent trait of making enormous gains quickly with roughly 44 times that amount of training is unable to break 50,000? That just doesn't coincide with his established record. The rest seems presumptive because it was never established that he trained with #18 or broke one million during the Frieza arc. Gohan lost a considerable amount of power due to lack of training between the Cell and Buu arcs. Just imagine how much Krillin must have lost by comparison, and then include an additional four years of inactivity and we reach the present era. You're telling me it's realistic for someone who hasn't been training regularly for eleven years to still be superior to someone who for all intents and purposes was a major competitor for being the strongest human and continues to train to this day? Offscreen training with no noted powerups doesn't mean much. Krillin was noted to have a massive powerup.
