Feminism

I am not really surprised of the two topless feminists incident mentioned in the very first posts. I mean it's in human nature to misuse Practices/beliefs/Philosophy for personal goals. But, what surprises me even more is the fact that we still have feminism. I am just baffled that feminism has not yet evolved into Humanism. I mean, It's really depressing to see that, we have to separately rely on feminism to advocate equality in gender.

Let me copy/paste what I said on the previous page.

"As long as social issues like these exist, feminism will continue fighting, and I'll continue to back it as a movement. Feminism has far too much history to just chuck it out the window or call it something different. That would be disrespecting what the original feminists fought for. Which is a ton of history. Take a women's history class if you don't understand what women have gone through over the years. It's pretty s***ty looking back on it."

I could elaborate, but I hate debating the same arguments over and over again. Humanism and feminism are not the same thing. Humanism is an ideology, not a movement.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

It would be a good idea to rename feminism though because plenty ignorant people get the wrong idea and act against it.

And there are so many "feminists" or "feminazi's" that butcher it and make people think it's all about women > men, teaching others and leading by example.

That s*** needs to stop. Renaming it Equalism or whatever would be a good way to nip that in the bud somewhat, you can't claim to be about equality for all while saying one side is better than the other like feminazi's do.
People who do that would obviously not be actual equalists but as it stands now feminazi's can completely misrepresent feminism and ignorant people are none the wiser, thinking it's all about women.

Equalism/humanism/whatever would be a much easier name for people to digest since many people will put no more thought in to it than the name, feminism suggests women. Not like everyone is going to take the time to look up what feminism actually is, the fact that so many people have no idea is proof.

Why change the name of an entire movement simply to cater to people who can't be bothered to actually look into it and learn what it's about? People who bash feminism and claim that it's a certain way without actually taking the time to study it for themselves are just as bad as feminazis. I don't want to cater to those types of people and give them what they want, so I don't advocate that at all.

Doesn't seem necessary anymore, the name is being dropped for the purpose:

People refuse to identify as feminists because of their own ignorance. There's really no way to put that nicely.

I wouldn't want identify was a republican even if I support representative democracy. They're not mutually exclusive.

I'm not very familiar with your reference, so I'm not sure what to say to that. Haha

I am not against Feminism nor do I have beliefs or practices in Feminism. I am just really disappointed that Feminism hasn't yet evolved to humanism. And this is just my belief that Feminism will eventually evolve into humanism. I am a firm believer that(and this is just my personal opinion not enforcing it to anyone) Feminism will inevitably contradicts it's actual goals and thus will eventually evolve into Humanism.

I completely understand if you disagree with my view points/belief. I mean to each his own right?. Anyways,This is just my view on the topic and Feminism in general. I was just expressing my disappointment at Feminism still not evolving at a human level rather than gender level(Again this just my view/belief not enforcing it to anyone).

If a person's not comfortable identifying as a Feminist, they can identify as an egalitarian. They're both essentially the same thing, and an egalitarian would be fighting for the same thing as a feminist.

@OFG First wave ended in the 1950s. There's plenty of them STILL alive.

I spoke my piece on this, and I'm done on the matter.

Really? Name one.

You don't know enough about the terms you're using to make the kind of claims you were making in your previous post.

But...why? You have misinformed people out there teaching their kids and others that feminism is stupid and that women only want to be in better positions than men.

Would it not make more sense to cater to the misinformed rather than the feminazi's who bastardize the whole movement? They are far worse than the ignorant they're taking a name and completely abusing it because they're selfish a*****.

A neutral term makes more sense anyway since men aren't equal to women in some ways plus there's transgenders to consider so it might as well be neutral instead of fem.
