This seems like positive news for Australia. I mean, short of voting in Hitler, you can't do much worse than Tony Abbott.

Novacane for the pain

Eh, the Liberals are still in power and their policies remain so little has changed there. Also not a huge fan of changing PM's in this method, especially considering this is the third prime minister in a row to lose the job this way rather than through a democratic vote (though at least with the other two an election was called right after, no way Turnbull will do that when he has a year to play with).

Still, Turnbull will be lest embarrassing than Abbott and at the very least he's more Liberal on social issues like marriage equality and climate change, so they are positives.

Ugh, I miss the days of John Howard. Hate on him all you like, but his government was the last of its kind to have any real stability, before knifing Prime Ministers started becoming commonplace here in Australia.

Also, while it's good to see Abbott go, I'm not a fan of Turnbull either, given what's happened under his watch as Communications minister.
