Pretty neat! England will begin testing an electric highway that will allow owners of electric and hybrid cars to charge while they’re on the go. http://www.iflscience.com/technology/england-test-electric-motorways-charge-electric-cars Never seen an electric car before. Don't even think they sell them here in Maryland. How exactly do they work? |

They use hydrogen as fuel. Don't think this will happen for about fifty years. We are notoriously slow at updating our infrastructure. We only have one internet service provider who can promise speeds up to 50mbs. No one else has the fibre optic cables required. If we can't get something as straight forward as minimum 50mbs internet rolled out then I can't see this being done any time soon. |

what? electric cars run on electricity lol to answer the op: i'm sure you've seen them before and just not realized it. nissan leaf, chevy volt, tesla, etc are all electric cars and they work by storing energy in batteries that the car uses to run. hybrids (like the toyota prius) use electricity but also have a traditional internal combustion engine for when more power is needed - it usually uses electricity on city streets and the normal engine on the highway. the main problem with electric cars is that even though they're really efficient and cheap to run, the batteries can only store so much energy and can usually only go about 300 miles (i think) before needing to recharge. since you can only charge them at specific charging stations, which aren't all that common yet, you're limited to like 150 miles round trip. the electric highway thing tries to fix that by charging the battery while it drives, similar to the way a wireless charger would charge your phone Edited by peep, Sep 10 2015, 11:37 PM.

You're right. It's because of a conversation I had earlier that I got muddled. I was asking my brother why they couldn't fuel hydrogen cars with water. |
