Are you two suggesting I skip over this arc?

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

No, but you probably won't enjoy it very much. It just seems like a placeholder before the final arc.

Okay, so this first fight against this robot isn't that bad. It puts Yugi on an understandably bad situation where it looks like he has zero chance of winning, and even with the annoying crying children, I still sense some good drama, but... why should they worry? This machine hasn't started a dark game or has the barrier of Orichalcos, why are they worried of him losing? Isn't losing the easy way out of the place they're dueling in?

Their dueling pride, that's why. You'll find that even when it's just a game, they take the whole thing 100% seriously. This is expanded upon more in GX, but it's present here as well

Ah.

Also, cute moment just happened where Tall Yugi switched with Short Yugi just because he didn't want to explain about a card he gave to some kid. Only genuine funny moment for me so far, and the only worth one commenting here, considering the humor in this anime is not really good. At least in the japanese version, where it feels really forced and unnecessary.

Edit: Fortune Salim gives me the creeps. He looks like a KKK member.

Edit 2: And now we have Sherlock Holmes in this show aswell. Because why not. PD: If you search for this guy you'll get a huge amount of people named Paul McGregor. It's insane.

Edit 3: Now some guy named Richard Goat... Worst name ever.

Some of the jokes are more funny in English, that I will say. This is mostly due to having more of them to begin with.

So... Yugi's grandpa is one of those classic perverted elders? Didn't know that.
It's hilarious to hear him saying "kawaii" considering how famous that word is now.

Edit: LOL This situation right now is... oddly familiar.

Edit 2: Nevermind, those two messed it up even worse than Goten and Trunks.

Edit 3: And once again, just like with the Giant Rex being a Spino, we get the afro-american cousin of the Indominus Rex rather than a Tyrannosaurus despite it being called "Black Tyranno".

Edit 4: It's pretty hard to take a guy who's wearing pink all over him (hair included) seriously. At least the other pink villain I can think of, Majin Boo, was a comedic bad guy, this dude... Is like one of those boring german stereotypes, if it even is supposed to be a stereotype of anything.

Weird thing about Black Tyranno, it actually looks more like a T-rex in the actual card

Still has the finger problem, but it's less glaring.

Schroeder is spectacularly lame, yes. He's definitely a German stereotype, English dub tossed in a German accent in "zere" too

I hated Zigfried. What a distasteful, s***headed, ugly, piece of dook character...and he was supposed to be a rival to Kaiba? Bah, maybe if you aged Kaiba by 40 years and gave him colon cancer.

Really bad "villain" for the arc.

I imagine that got old quick.

Especially if he sounded like this.

It wasn't quite as bad as I remember. Like, he's still super German, but he's not saying "zhe" or anything like that. He's just kind of got an accent

So... Zigfried was just supposed to be a joke from the very beginning of his life, losing to Seto in everything because he was always inferior?
It's not that I think he's a bad villain, compared to some of the minor ones that never stood a chance at dueling, but he's so boring and pathetic, it's not even funny...

PD: The animation is getting worse per episode, man, what happened? Is this also a filler arc or what? Not even the Orichalcos Arc had it this bad...
PD2: Kaiba laughing at Sigfried's defeat was sorta creepy. I mean... It made it feel like he was the main villain all along.

It is the most filler-y of filler arcs. The Virtual World, Orichalcos, and Grand Tournament are all filler.

No one likes this arc and aside from Yugi pulling BS that rivals the "beyond infinity" nonsense against Dartz, there's not much in it. The next one is not filler, however

Mokuba: "This tournament's gonna be even bigger than Battle City!"
Seto: "Let's hope so."

Yeah, it definitely felt bigger than Battle City.
