Dreams; What do you dream about?

What do you generally dream about?
Can you recall then often?
Do you ever see meaning in them, have they ever inspired you?
What about weird dreams?

My misses is really good at remembering dreams. She hangs onto the fine details better than anybody i know. I suck at remembering them lol! But i don't read too much into dreams. I like the studies done regarding what dreams mean subconsciously, but I don't really care what mine mean :p if my brain is trying to tell me something I'll figure it out eventually. I'm more interested in the s*** that goes on while I'm awake, i don't have time to care about what i don't already know about.

You could put it in the same place as psychology I suppose. Where getting 100% is near impossible. That said I'm pretty sure it's a but below it but still. In any case it's still rather interesting to see. From that I think it's just looking at cultural norms and such and then applying it to the dream.

Dream study is in the field of psychology. It's nothing completely different. The thing with psychology is there are too many paradigms. Dream interpretations aren't supported by any quantifiable variables afaik unlike other human phenomena.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

Nothing specific. Just whatever my brain decides to dream about. Usually weird stuff with very little logic behind it, as dreams tend to be, sometimes influenced by something on my mind or something that happened during the day.

I don't buy into the whole 'if you dream about this, then it means this'. There can be meaning to dreams in that it stems from your own mind, so if something's on your mind, it could manifest in your dream. But I don't think those books that have a list of things like "if you dream of a bear, it means you're worried about losing your job" (made-up example, but you know the type of books) hold any credence.

I usually dream about being in some sort of impossible situation, mostly I feel like I'm trying to work a puzzle by doing certain things. An example would be like if I were to dream I'm having breakfast with my mother on a cruise ship while it's sinking and I have to act casual about the meal or we will go below the water and drown so I'm trying to distract her and the ship from the fact that they are sinking by asking her questions about other people or her home life. That's not a dream I've actually had, but an example of what I mean by an impossible situation that can only be navigated by unrelated actions or decisions.

I usually can recall them for a few minutes or hours depending on how urgent it was. Scary dreams stick around longer than relaxing ones.

Sometimes my dreams seem to have specific meanings, like my subconscious is saying to me something like "oh you never realized it until you had this dream, but you have unresolved issues you need to talk through with this person and here's what you should say so it goes well."

Weird dreams? Oh yeah, lots. The weirdest dreams I have are of mundane everyday conversations though, because it could be weeks months or years later but I will end up having that conversation in that exact setting. I will remember the dream, and how that conversation went and if it was a nice conversation I say what I remember saying in the dream. If it was a bad conversation I just divert from the dreams original course and make a more pleasant reality. Which I guess that is just deja vu making me think in that moment that I've dreamed it before but it is still weird.

I have the craziest dreams man. They are always so over the top and badass. I do get bad dreams occasionally though. I had a dream one team where it was me and all my friends in iron man suits fighting monsters from pacific rim. My dreams are like that.
