Does anyone know what are the steps involved in selling your property? What should I be aware of? How to distinguish between bad lying agents to good agents? |

When my parents sold our old house I think they just contacted an agent and he handled most of it. My mum grew up with him so it was really easy and he just told us what to do. I was only 14 at the time so I didn't really get to be part of the process but it seems like the agent managed all the legal stuff and paperwork and we focused on making the place look good enough to sell Idk what it's like in HK but there's still probably some kind of license for realtors so try to find the ones that have a license and are approved by the government. Also the agent charges commission so agree on a price before u start the process of selling Edited by peep, Aug 31 2015, 10:09 AM.

Reputation speaks volumes when it comes to having a good agent! A Google search of some of your local realtors regarding user reviews is definitely a good starting point. Also try to make sure your house is as up to date as possible. Forking out a few thousand to make the house sparkle with youth would go a long way towards getting the most value out of what your house could potentially be wroth. Such things include bathroom (tiles inparticular) and the kitchen (good modern oven, blemish free benchtops etc). Get these things right, with a fresh coat of paint (maybe do a feature wall or two) and you could up your houses value significantly. Plus im not sure about your back yard, but if you don't already have one doing a nice deck can add up to 40k (in Australia anyway) of value to your house and cost you less than half of that to build. Just some things i would do to get the most for a porperty Edited by lucrowe, Aug 31 2015, 11:10 AM.
