IKR, the fast and strong characters are most of the time top tier. Diddy kong, Sheik, ZSS.. Meta knight in brawl(can't say he's strong but still) Fox/Falco in Melee Pikachu/Kirby in SSB64. Project M however does a good job in balance, each character is viable.
He could have a chance were it not for the fact that Ubisoft decided to port his game all over the platforms. |

yeah, well ike shouldn't even be a heavy in the first place hes pretty fast in fire emblem and idk what they would do, maybe make the heavies a little faster and be able to string combos better? |

I dunno man, DeDeDe was the best heavyweight in brawl(not counting snake)... I didn't play the fourth one but I think that if we're only counting heavyweights it's probably Captain Falcon, R.O.B or Ryu. Super Heavyweights, I'd put my money on DeDeDe. |

Dedede was good in Brawl because he could chaingrab though, meaning that once he got a hold of some characters he could do tons of damage or instakill. Chaingrabbing got removed in this game, meaning D3 lost his main tool. He's terrible in Sm4sh sadly :/ Did anyone catch Paragon LA on Sunday? Amazing Melee top 8. USA won Kreygasm |

DeDeDe is the best heavyweight for sure. Having a projectile is a valuable asset and his running trip is a legit approach option that rarely fails. He takes a heck of a lot to kill and dishes out damage hard. I love Bowser, but he's just too easy to juggle. His return to stage options are appalling. Best bet is a ledge grab, but if you're up against a character than can pummel you downwards like Mario or Falcon a low edge approach is sooo scary. Bowser's best asset is that so few people use him many opponents don't know his move set, so it's fairly easy to surprise a new opponent with his invincible up smash on characters who like to come down with an attack (Link's always do this, over and over...) and people who don't know Bowser's down B shield breaks. On the ground, Bowser takes so many hits being the heaviest in the game and can kill at really, crazy low percentages. He punches through lots of projectiles too. I play with him a lot because he's just so much fun to watch throw his weight around the stage. |

Dedede's frame data sucks, his projectile is unsafe most of the time considering jabs can reflect it, has a hard time killing because he has no safe setups and has to rely on reads. DK, on the other hand, has an actual grab confirm kill on the whole cast depending on percentages, a much better pivot grab and in general footsies game with spaced bair. Dash is good for approaching, gets cargo up throw nair /bair and upb to do a lot of damage. I'm just spouting competitive garbo here, if you're playing casually it comes down to who you're the best with I guess :P |
