I haven't been up to date on any Nintendo and/or handheld consoles in years. The last Nintendo consoles I owned were the original Wii and Nintendo DS. But I'm seeing all these awesome, old school games coming out on the 3DS like majora's mask and ocarina of time. Should I get a 3DS? |

I say no. Apart from a few remakes and some Fire Emblem games, there isn't much on it. |

It depends on how much the games interest you. http://www.metacritic.com/browse/games/release-date/available/3ds/userscore This is a list of games, rated highest to lowest by users. This'll give a pretty good idea about what people love on the system. I have one and personally I enjoy it. |

What's your budget? ![]() I have had every single model of the 3DS and played a lot of games. I say it is very well worth it. I grew up with Nintendo, so I know from experience that the great games of each console have high replay value. It's personal opinion on whether it's worth it or not, but I definitely recommend it! |

Yes. Best handheld thus far... That includes the Gameboy Advanced SP. Only one with Virtual Console games for one thing. |

It's one of the best handheld consoles ever. Still not better than any of the Gameboys, though. As Pelador and some other guy said, you should only buy it if you're interested in some of the games they have. Most are fun imo. |
Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power. | |

I literally only got it to play the new Pokemon games, but I play them a lot so it was a good purchase in my opinion. Like others have said, if there are games you know you'll enjoy, then go for it, even if it's just one series of games e.g. Pokemon for me. |

Yeah same as Mitas but Pokémon gets boring for me quick these days. Actually I don't even have a 3DS I got a 2DS because they're cheaper and basically only Pokémon I find worth playing, no need to go all out and get a 3DS or the new one. I don't see how the 3D part is worth it at all to be honest. Not used my 2DS in like...almost a year I think, except sometimes for Mii Plaza. So yeah research games first for sure, if you're only interested in one or a handful of series you might as well get a 2DS and save some money. They're pretty sturdy too I've had many DS's hinges break easily, 2DS doesn't have that problem. Or you could get a Vita and play an endless amount of indie games, visual novels and stuff like Danganronpa or Persona. |

A used 2DS or Vita is actually pretty cheap. I've had a Vita as well for 2 games: Final Fantasy X/X-2 and Dynasty Warriors 8 XL. Look on Craigslist or Ebay for some good deal! Same goes with games. Are you a physical or digital kind of person? I personally only like physical copies of games. Not only that, you can find them cheaper used and can resell them to get your money back, unlike digital. |

I got a 3DS because I didn't like the look of the 2DS. I liked the compactness of my regular DS, and the feel of it in my hand, so wanted to try and replicate that with the 3DS rather than get used to something new. But I don't even use the 3D feature like that, since it isn't necessary for Pokemon. I only turn it on when there's a cut scene, and even then it's only for the first time I see it, any subsequent run throughs are done entirely in 2D. So yeah, if you're ok with the look and feel of the 2DS and the games you'll be playing don't use the 3D function fully, then it'd be cheaper to get a 2DS. |

If you like a good amount of Nintendo games, you'll like it. You could buy a New 3DS at this point. While it literally only has ONE GAME (to my knowledge) so far, which is Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, it'll probably get more, and can of course play 3DS games, has amiibo support, has a c stick and extra shoulder buttons, and has face tracking 3D, though you can only get the XL and it only comes in 2 colors so far. |
