Eating meat and animal abuse

Is it possible for humans to keep eating animal product without requiring animal cruelty?

Is it the number of people in the world that eat meat? Is it amount of meat people eat?

Obviously most people won't become vegan but will humans be able to eat meat without the animals ever having to go through hell before getting on their plate

will we ever be able to eat meat without thinking about what hell the animals are going through before they get on your plate?
Ever? I do it several times a day, every single day.

Sadly, I don't think so.
If you can see how animals are treated in factories, the way they are treated cannot be considered human. It makes me wonder who are the beasts and who isn't.

Some people in the unfortunate places barely eat breads each day let alone meat.
Number isn't the problem, It's the amount of consumption.
Over-consumption should be stopped.

It could happen one day.
However you have to consider that these animals were bred for consumption, as man has found ways both naturally and artificially to increase quantity of animals.

Well, still same answer. I love animals as well as domesticated ones and I think they should be treated well and live good lives before being slaughtered. But there are plenty of them and we're on top of the foodchain and do the same thing any other predator does, I don't see the cruelty if they lived well and they're killed as quickly as possible. I only have a problem with the hunting of endangered species for obvious reasons.

They use much more humane ways to kill the animals now than they used to, at least in this part of the country (United States, can't speak for other countries). Air guns for one example. No pain!

Keyboard Warriors, Everywhere.

I am very much for animal rights. I volunteer for an animal sanctuary and have adopted many stray pets etc / given a fair amount of money too animal charities. However the whole meat thing has never been a problem for me. Yes, the way some animals are treated is disgusting before they are slaughtered, but it's not like their being ''tortured'' or have the capacity too understand the situation they are in. At the end of the day it's an evolutionary hunting method. Instead of going out with spears and clubs we have evolved too the point where we can get our required protein from animals by creating farms / factories.

Keyboard Warrior

1. A Person who, being unable to express his anger through physical violence (owning to their physical weakness, lack of bravery and/or conviction in real life), instead manifests said emotions through the text-based medium of the internet, usually in the form of aggressive writing that the Keyboard Warrior would not (for reasons previously mentioned) be able to give form to in real life.

2. Keyboard Warriors are generally identified by unneccessary rage in their written communications, and are regarded as 'losers' by other virtual identities on the internet.

One day we're going to have to live without meat.

There's already a shortage of food in the world and meat is the first thing we're going to run out of.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

How will we run out of meat if we just keep breeding animals to provide the meat? Genuine question. Would it be to do with running out of the food that we feed them to keep them alive?

Not breeding at a fast enough rate for the amount we consume, I imagine.

This. I have taken a tour of a slaughterhouse of one of the biggest Canadian meat distributors. Without getting into details that may turn people off, all that I can say is that the death of the animals is indeed painless.

They can now grow meat in laboratories. This technology is available, and has been for a while now. It's just not cost efficient.

From what I recently heard they could barely taste the difference, except it was a little more dry.
