Remember how in Dragonball Goku loved that ball. How much it meant to him. The adventures he took to get it. How he caught the ball before it could fly away. Like how it's a tribute to Gohan. Gohan (Main character) even wore it on his hat. But for some reason Goku just stop caring about it. I understand he's a busy man but during 3 year wait for androids he didn't get it,the 10 year peace he obviously don't have it (that blue monkey thing made a wish), and EoZ he doesn't have it. I felt that the Fourth star ball was a very important aspect of Goku's character and it was strip away from him.

Probably because he got another chance to actually see and say goodbye to grampa Gohan. Until then the 4-star ball was all he had to associate Gohan with (Why any of the other objects in his old house don't count I don't know). In fact when Goku shows him the 4-star ball, Gohan makes it clear the ball isn't anything special to him. At that point it just became one of seven dragon balls like any other |

I would agree to that but remember when the balls was flying away. Goku caught the 4th star ball. If it wasn't special then he could let it fly away. He even gave Gohan the ball and in the anime. Named him Gohan after looking at the 4th star ball. |

I dunno. I feel like as Goku grew up he became less emotionally attached to things like family and friends. Sure Goku was independent even at the start, but when his friends died he went berserk, and he even decided to visit them himself one day (granted it was after 5 years...). Whereas at the end of the Manga, Bulma mentions the last time everyone got together, 5 years before, Goku was training. He generally just became a lot more self-centered after Freeza saga, so I guess something like an emotional attachment to a ball meant little to him anymore. |

He just got really busy, forgot, and stopped caring over time. He probably said to himself that the ball will never fully explain the love he has for Grampa Gohan. |
