I believe I made a similar thread before, but it was a while ago, so I didn't want to bump it. What do you guys think? Think he acted different in each of his forms? If so, was it because of the androids?

I don't think the androids is the reason, since his personality changed when he became super perfect.(you could say he absorbed goku)
I think when he gains power, the personality becomes different.

In his imperfect form he was calculating and sneaky.
in his semi perfect form he became more arrogant.
in his perfect form he became so full of himself.
finally, when he became super perfect he became cocky.

It's more like the cyborgs contributed to his ego instead of them outright changing it to reflect their own mannerisms. I will say that Perfect Cell acted more...dignified compared to before. Like he became more refined and elegant in his posturing, similar to Frieza.

That makes sense, but this is how I look at it currently

At first, Cell had a mind similar to Dr. Gero, as he was the creator so his computer, and thus Cell, displayed a similar level of intelligence and personality.

Next, he absorbed 17, who's male persona had influence on Cell's state of mind, causing him to be more arrogant in a masculine sort of way. He was a brute pretty much.

Now mind you, this part is going purely off anime, as I'm not at this point in the manga yet. anyway when he absorbed 18, yes he got more arrogant, but it was less masculine. He didn't care about getting down and dirty as much, but instead flaunting what he had (power). Then he lost it when he was getting beat.

I dunno, does this make sense or am I just rambling on? Lol

I believe "Perfect" doesn't only mean strong.
Dr. Gero's "Perfection" probably includes both physical and mental perfection.
So yeah, they probably also altered his mind and morals but his goals are still there.
In the beginning he was a being with animal traits, and then with the absorptions of the androids he developed into a more "civilized", human form.

No, the strength contributed to the personality change, not the cyborgs.

They might have been a factor, but it's difficult to determine since his goals change as well.

After becoming Semi-Pefect, Cell reveled in his new power and thought he was invincible until he met Vegeta. More or less, the same can be said of Perfect Cell. Nevertheless, I did notice some differences.

Imperfect Cell: Clever, sneaky

Semi-percect Cell: Brutish, direct

Perfect Cell: Composed, controlling

I guess it can be that simple...

I was just thinking about how he gained some of their personality to an extent.

Well, there may be something there.

#17 was more arrogant than #18, and #18 seemed more laid back.

Semi-perfect Cell and Perfect Cell seem to reflect this to an extent

I didn't notice any unnatural personality change from Cell. First he was searching for some power (android #17). Once he absorbed #17 he got his first taste of some power and knew he was stronger than everyone and showed it. After absorbing #18 he achieved his goal and calmed down knowing (believing) that he was invisible

That's true. I guess there can be two ways to look at it.

I simply believe the satisfaction with absorbing them and reaching his destined form was what changed his personality, but it wasn't the Cyborgs themselves.

His cokiness after constant power up is what changed his personality. You could see whenever he has the lower spot in the fight he looses his touch.

Imperfect: Sneaky and smart, needs to get his power to become complete.

Semi-perfect: Got a taste of perfection, is half way there now so he's more cocky.

Perfect: Finally completed his dream so he has nothing to worry about.

Super Perfect: Received a power up similar to the only warrior that could challenge him so wants to test his new perfect power out.

I think the achievements are what changed him too. I can only see Boo's absorption being a personality changer.
