Just got back from watching RoF in theaters. Aside from it being a very entertaining movie overall, one thing that bugged me is Master Roshi. The movie shows him in his buff form being able to handle dozens of Freeza Soldiers. So that begs the question, is Master Roshi's Max power from stronger than we previously thought? Has he been training all these years in secret throughout 'Z'? Or are Freeza's soldiers just very weak. I think i read somewhere that Toriyama stated in an interview that roshi has just been hiding some of his power but im not sure though. What do you guys think? |

Roshi>Whis obviously. He's just hiding his full power until it's important. More seriously, it's possible he's been training since then, but more likely no one was thinking about the mooks power level, so they may very well be as well as Roshi. |

Me and the misses saw it at the theaters last night as well my first cinematic dbz experience. I've decided to write up a review so you'll hear my thoughts on that later. But roshi! Many questions entered my mind as well. Freeza says on a few occasions how his special forces are much weaker than they used to be. Roshi could have been training all these years, would make sense. But the average freeza soldier was under 1000 anyway so if freeza is right and his forces are weaker than they used to be, maybe a more accurate number would be under 500? Although that would raise questions about why krillin and tien were having issues (though minor). Everyone seems weaker in the movie except for vegeta and goku, especially Gohan! Roshi would be the only one who seems to be more impressive. But as a master of martial arts you can assume he spends an x amount of time keeping his skills sharp! |

http://jnetworkonline.com/2015/04/23/master-roshi-is-now-unbelievably-powerful-viewers-of-dragon-ball-resurrection-of-f-are-blown-away-creator-of-the-dragon-ball-series-toriyama-akira-gives/ Not sure if this info is accurate or not. Also he says "Krillin is displaying an equal, or perhaps more, fighting power than Kame Senin." Lol wut? I think what makes most sense is that he's been training a bit, but him being close to Krillins power seems way to far fetched. |

I sense some inconsistencies. If Roshi was that strong he wouldn't have died against King Piccolo.Unless King Piccolo is stronger than the average frieza solder(which i doubt.) The only logical solution would be training and I doubt it would make him that strong. |

Oh, who cares. We wanted Roshi to be awesome, amirite? No? Well, there is no explanation given, but we don't need explanations with Roshi acting cool. Besides, those soldiers knew what they were getting into. |
Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?! Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power. | |

I can't complain. Roshi got his first shred of badassness ever since the original dragon ball ended. |

He got knocked around more than everyone else and they all swooped in and saved him towards the end vs the last troops. The catch 22 is he now has an aura and no one gets them in Z to we see the 1500 pl Gohan and Krillin could blip up to on Namek. That just means Roshi kept active and did some training over the course of what almost 20 more years? That's plausible. He's around Krillin and 18 all the time, and Marron as well who should be naturally stronger than your average girl. He fought though because he is a martial artist master. Hell it's not like Roshi was ever shown training on screen in dragonball either but he always came back to the tournaments stronger than the time before |

Junior had an aura in dragon Ball and his power was never near that bro! But you'd have to imagine for his part to make any sense he'd have to have a power of AT LEAST 1000. But that raises questions about why tien left chiaotzu and yamcha behind when the two of them could have very easily helped with the soldiers if roshi could have. There were plenty of inconsistencies in the film's story structure. This wasn't one of the major ones, but it was enough to be like "...okay?..." |
