Leve Feyenoord 1!

Check out the other threads if you want to discuss English leagues, International Championships or Champions/Europa League.

This thread is to discuss all other leagues: Copa Libertadores, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Primeira Liga, Russian PL, Eredivisie, etc.

The Eredivisie is starting today and I'm predicting this:

1. Feyenoord
2. PSV
3. Ajax
4. FC Twente
5. AZ
6. Vitesse
7. FC Groningen
8. SC Heerenveen
9. FC Utrecht
10. PEC Zwolle
11. Willem II
12. NEC
13. ADO Den Haag
14. SC Cambuur
15. Roda JC
16. Heracles Almelo
17. Excelsior
18. De Graafschap

Feyenoord on #1 is a little optimistic but I really do think they have a good chance at the championship, they've done very good this transfer period.
In goal the have Vermeer who is probably the most excellent goalkeeper in the league after Cillessen. And Hahn on the bench who did incredible for PEC last season.
In defense they have Kongolo who never disappoints, Nelom who is a solid LB, Karsdorp a growing RB and Wilkshire to back him up, they bought van der Heijden who had an incredible season and are close to getting Botteghin who is probably the best defender in the entire Eredivisie after maybe Veltman. Then they also have van Beek who has a ton of potential.
In midfield they have 6 very solid midfielders. They bought Vejinovic who did incredible last season, they have Immers, El Ahmadi, Vilhena and Toornstra who we still remember from last season are great guys, and Sleegers returns from a loan at FC Eindhoven and helped that team get to the 2nd place.
Then in the attack we probably have the best trio in the Eredivisie: Elia on the left, Kramer in the middle and Kuyt on the right. And if that isn't enough we have Manu and Kazim to back them up.
The only thing that worries me is the lack of experience of the coach. The season all depends on Van Bronckhorst

Pretty pathetic performance.
Makes me wonder if they'll take La Liga.

It might be a surprise win for Atlético this year

San Lorenzo is definitely one of the best teams of Argentina but Rosario Central satnds out the last two years. they're doing phenomenal job and I hope they win the championship this year.

Yep, I agree with you, Rosario Central is doing a great campaign at a local level. In Copa Libertadores played a draw with Nacional of Montevideo, they loose in Brasil vs Palmeiras 0-2, and won 4-1 being local vs River of Uruguay. Tomorrow they play vs River of Uruguay being visitors. Lets see the next results.

My team San Lorenzo played up to this date, 4 games. We first loose against Liga of Quito 2-0 (at 2500 metres) so its a very difficult stage because of the high altitude, then a draw against Toluca of Mexico being locals, then another draw facing Gremio of Porto Alegre Brazil playing as visitors, so being the last one match another draw 1-1, we are in a very complicated situation. But we are not out, maybe a miracle can give us the qualifacation to the finals.

If we win against Toluca at the 3400 metres above sea at Mejico and again here in Buenos Aires vs. Liga of Quito maybe we will have a change of qualifying to the knockout stages.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

Gary Neville is leaving Valencia at the end of the season. I honestly thought he'd do well there, he sounded very tactically astute in his commentating and post-game analysing, but this shows that it's one thing to do it as a spectator and another to do it as the main man.

I thought that was the initial deal anyway, so what's new? Nothing.

Sure, the deal was initially just until the end of the season, but he obviously would have planned to have achieved the results that would have seen him offered a longer termed contract.

Crazy Awesome Legend

Pretty sure they were already on the decline before he took over.
