It's quite apparent that training and getting stronger are more important to these two than their own families. Shenron grants two wishes; one for Goku, one for Vegeta. |

Training is important but if it was that important then Goten would've been scraped (know it won't really hurt but still). But that is a good question. I guess they're just trying to get as strong as possible before they die and pass with their respective families and friends. |

The same answer for why Goku and Vegeta didn't use Elder Kaioshin's powerup or why every Saiyan isn't a Super Saiyan God. It's too difficult to come up with an explanation for why it doesn't happen, but we need the plot devices, so it's best just to not draw attention to it. |

It's just something they wouldn't do, not even to get stronger. |

Some "gods" they are, they're not even immortal... Seriously though, Goku at the very least would be happy since all he lives for is for getting stronger and to fight stronger and stronger opponents. With all this balance of the universe/multiverse stuff DB is going for right now, it wouldn't surprise me if the multiverse simply pooped out a new game+ universe for Godku. Vegeta initially wanted immortality, but figured out how empty a life like that would be. Goku always knew, and it kinda would be cheating. Goku especially doesn't like to cheat. |
